Terms of use of the service Yandex.Translate

1. General Provisions

1.1. Yandex (as referred in User Agreement for Yandex Services https://yandex.com/legal/rules/) offers the Internet User (hereinafter referred to as the User) to use the service Yandex.Translate available at: http://translate.yandex.com/ (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”).

1.2. In all cases not provided for by these Terms, the relations between Yandex and the User in connection with the use of the Service shall be governed by the User agreement for the Yandex services (https://yandex.com/legal/rules/), the Privacy Policy (https://yandex.com/legal/confidential/), collectively referred to as the “Regulatory Documents”.

1.3. By starting to use the Service/its certain options, the User is considered to have accepted these Terms, as well as the requirements of all of the above documents, in full, without any reservations and exceptions. If the User disagrees with any provisions of the specified documents, the User may not use the Service.

1.4. The current version of the Terms is always available at: https://yandex.com/legal/translate_termsofuse/. Yandex may amend these Terms providing a notice on relevant amendments at the URL specified in this paragraph. Revised Terms shall come into effect once posted online at the specified URL, unless otherwise stipulated in revised Terms.

1.5. If Yandex makes any amendments to these Terms in the manner provided for by section 1.4. of these Terms, to which the User does not agree, he/she shall stop using the Service.

1.6. The Service offers the User to access the service of automated translation of User’s texts and web pages without any charge if requested by the User. All currently existing options of the Service, as well as any development of them and/or adding new ones is the subject matter of these Terms.

1.7. By using the Service, the User consents to receiving informational notices necessary for service provision and essential updates. The User may unsubscribe from the notices, including but not limited to advertising messages, by using relevant functions of the Service or following instructions specified in a message received.

2. Use of the Service. Certain options of the Service

2.1. The Service provides the User with the possibility to automatically translate texts selected by the User from one language to another, as well as web pages, the links (URLs) to which are specified by the User.

To access certain functions of the Service, the User may need to register or log in using a previously registered Yandex ID account (https://yandex.com/legal/id_termsofuse).

2.2. The automated translation of texts and web pages is conducted using Yandex’s own technologies.

2.3. The Service is provided to the User for personal noncommercial use.

2.4. The Service provides the User with functionality to independently add a translation, edit the translation and report an error (hereinafter referred to as the User’s Data). The User agrees that the User’s Data can be available to all other Users both directly at the Service and in other Yandex resources as well as in Yandex advertising or marketing materials without specifying the User (his/her name and/or login) that added the User’s Data. The User shall solely and entirely bear the risks for the statutory compliance, content, integrity, accuracy and reliability of the User’s Data. Yandex reserves the right, without prior notice and at own discretion, not to publish the User’s Data.

2.5. Through the Service, the User can access certain functions that work using artificial intelligence technology, including the functionality of processing User requests related to text translation (explaining grammar, providing recommendations on translation style, etc.), providing information on the User requests.

Yandex does not guarantee the operation of these functions and reserves the right to set limits and restrictions on their use.

The answers that are generated or summarized using artificial intelligence technologies are not an expression of anyone's opinion, position of Yandex, or statement of facts and cannot under any circumstances be regarded as guidance or advice when making decisions or performing any actions. Yandex is not responsible for the quality, completeness, accuracy, or correctness of the information received, nor does it guarantee the smooth operation of the functionality. The user undertakes to independently verify the correctness of the edited text, as well as to assess the risks associated with the use and dissemination of the information received.

2.6. The use of the Service by a minor is permitted with the knowledge and consent of his legal representative and under his supervision after the legal representative has familiarized himself with these Terms and Conditions and fully accepted their provisions on his behalf. Yandex does not guarantee that the Service does not contain information that does not correspond to the age category of a minor.

3. Other provisions

3.1. The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. Yandex does not provide any guarantees regarding the error-free and uninterrupted operation of the Service or its individual functions, or the Service's compliance with specific User goals and expectations.

3.2. The law of the Russian Federation applies to the relationship between the User and Yandex regarding the provision of the Service by Yandex. In case of questions, statements, or complaints, the User has the right to report them through the functionality of a specific Yandex Service. If Yandex and the User fail to reach an agreement, the issue can be resolved in court at the Yandex location.
