Head of Operations (Uzbekistan)

You will be the COO for a local startup in a new country. This is a unique opportunity for a self-driven, fast-paced professional willing to design a go-to-market strategy, build teams, scale, and deliver a business. You will play a crucial role in building our business. The Head of Operations will not be making that journey alone, as your direct reports will include local professionals and other local and HQ team members. You will report directly to the country manager.

Support the launch of new products and our service in new regions
You will lead the operations unit and guide the team to excellence. You will work with sales managers to identify key operational needs for customers and design their preferred solution. You will also perform back-office functions to identify key points of inefficiency and collaborate with local and international teams to drive solutions into reality. Additionally, you will initiate and lead short and long-term plans to achieve optimal operational performance and the most efficient infrastructure for scaling our business.

Monitor and improve service quality
You will monitor service quality and proactively identify the causes of operational deviations associated with courier and partner company performance. You will also analyze incidents and operational flaws with the support service and product lead, and further propose and help implement measures to improve efficiency.

Business development
You will develop personal connections and maintain business relationships with couriers and subcontractor companies, serving as their main contact person. You need to understand courier behavior, pain points, motivation, and challenges, building trust and engagement using field research and data-based analytics. You will be responsible for coordinating product implementation (operational process deployment or product launches). Finally, you will help design and implement terms and cooperation schemes that we build with partners and couriers.

• Have experience working in Excel
• Are experienced in building and leading teams, inspiring people, and winning their trust
• Have a deep understanding of the complexity of managing marketplace supply
• Are experienced working with couriers, identifying their problems, understanding the nuances of their work, and adapting to frequent changes
• Have flawless communication skills, both written and oral
• Understand unit economics, technology-driven marketplaces, operational efficiency, marketing, and finances
• Employ a strong can-do approach with a structured and process-guided personality
• Have an entrepreneurial spirit and preference for start-up environments over corporate structures
• Use a data-driven approach to decision-making and have a strong comfort level with analytics and the ability to see the story behind the numbers
• Are fluent in both the local language and English

• Have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
• Have 2/3+ years of experience in supply operations in a dynamic work environment
• Are experienced in the last-mile delivery market
• Have experience working in a tech field
