How to activate Tracker

Tracker is a service available in the Yandex.Connect collaboration platform.

To use Tracker:

  1. Go to the Tracker page and click Free trial. A new company in Yandex.Connect will then be created for you.
  2. Your employees will need full access to Tracker in order to manage issues.

    The cost of using Tracker is based on the number of users with full access to the platform.

Activate Tracker

Restriction. Only company administrators can activate and deactivate Tracker.

To activate Tracker for your organization:

  1. Log in to Yandex.Connect as an administrator.
  2. Go to the Yandex.Connect main page, find the Tracker card, and click .

  3. Click Activate on the settings page in Tracker.

All employees can use Tracker for 30 days for free without any restrictions. As the trial period ends, employees can continue using Tracker for free in “Read only” mode. Grant full access to Tracker so that your employees can use all its features.

Attention. Tracker stores your data for 30 days after the trial period ends. If you don't activate subscriptions during that period, all stored data will be deleted.

Add users

In order for your employees to use Tracker, create their user accounts or invite them to join your company.

Restriction. To create accounts for employees, first you have to link an email domain for your company.

You can add up to 1000 employee accounts to a single organization. If you need to add more, please contact support.

Create user accounts
  1. On the top Tracker panel click  → User access management.
  2. To the right of the Invite users button, click and select Create user account.
  3. Fill in the required fields:

    • Name and Last name, which will be visible in the shared address book, in chats, and in the department structure.
    • Birth date.
    • The login that the employee will use to log in to Tracker, which will also become this person's email address (for example, login@example.com).
    • Password for logging in to Tracker and One more time to confirm the password.
  4. Click Add.

To log in to Tracker, the employee will need to enter their full email address (such as login@example.com) and password.

Invite users

You can invite others to join your organization using their existing Yandex accounts in the format of login@yandex.com. You don't have to link an email domain or manually create each new employee account. Simply send your employees an invite.

  1. On the top Tracker panel click  → User access management.
  2. Click Invite users.
  3. List the email addresses of your employees and click Invite. Each user will receive an email with an offer to join your company.
  4. To create an invite link, turn on the Enable access via invite link option. Such links can be easily sent via a messenger or posted on a website.

Users you invite can join your organization by creating a new employee account or using their existing Yandex account.

Set up access to Tracker

As the trial period ends, all employees get free Tracker access automatically, but only in “Read only” mode. Employees will need full access to Tracker to manage issues with no restrictions. You can set up full Tracker access in advance. You will only be charged after the trial period.

The cost of using Tracker is based on the number of users with full access to the platform. Small teams can use Tracker for free. To learn more, see Tracker pricing.

Note. You can grant and revoke full access to Tracker at any time. The total cost is automatically recalculated as the number of users with full access changes. To learn more about how subscription costs are calculated, see Monthly Tracker pricing.

You can view the number of employees with full access to Tracker and the total monthly cost of using the platform in the lower-left corner of the page. To check your balance in Yandex.Connect or top up your account, click Detailed view.

Configuring access
  1. If you are setting up access to Tracker for the first time, you need to enter your information to create an account for payment:

    1. On the top Tracker panel click  → Payment details management.
    2. There are two ways to pay for Tracker: as an individual or legal entity.
    3. Fill out the form and click Save.
    Note. Your payment details are needed to pay for services if you're going to use paid Tracker service plans. The payment amount will be deducted from your Yandex.Connect account.
  2. On the top Tracker panel click  → User access management.
  3. Find the All users section and the Access column, and select Full access for all employees who need Tracker to manage issues.

    If a user has restricted access to access rights selection, then their access level is configured on the team or company level.

  4. To configure access rights for the entire team, select Teams on the left-hand panel, then select Full access or Read only in the field with the team name.

    To configure access rights for your company, select Departments on the left-hand panel.

“Read only” mode
Access to the following features is restricted in “Read only” mode:
  • creating issues using the Tracker interface
  • changing issue fields, statuses, and resolutions
  • leaving comments for issues
  • subscribing to issue changelogs.
