Location
During installation, Yandex Start asks for permission to use your location data. You can grant or deny that permission.
Information about your location is used for the following purposes:
- Sites can show you the most relevant region-based information (for example, the local weather or traffic info on a map).
- The address bar can display accurate suggestions (for example, about the weather).
- Settings can show a list of search engines that are used in your area.
By default, your region is detected based on the location of your device.
Set the region manually
-
Go to
(profile picture) → App settings.
- Go to Location.
- Disable the Auto detect option.
- Tap Select manually.
- Enter the name of your city.

Check the app settings
-

(profile picture) → App settings.
- Go to Location.
- If Set manually is enabled and you have the wrong city there, enable Set automatically.
Check the device settings
Make sure the app is allowed to access your location.
If the problem persists, contact support. Send a screenshot with the incorrect location and write your actual location.
