Power saving mode
When a device is used a lot, its battery runs out quickly. The battery capacity also decreases with time: the longer you use a device, the faster its battery dies. Power saving mode saves battery power, and gives you extra time of device use.
How does power saving mode work?
In this mode, Yandex Start:
- Reduces activity of the background tabs.
- Enables the reader mode.
- Uses hardware video codecs instead of VP9 and VP8.
- Turns off the parallax effect for the background upon opening a new tab.
- Disables smooth animation of web page elements.
- Disables interface animations.
- Takes other actions to optimize power consumption.
