Text translation in the camera

This feature works only if you're connected to the internet.

You can use Yandex app to translate text in photos, ads, and road signs. To do this, point your camera at the text, and the translation will appear on top of the text in the original language.

Note

Allow Yandex app to access your camera and files in the device settings.

  1. Open the Yandex app.

  2. In the SmartBox on the home screen, tap to open Smart Camera.

  3. Select the Translate mode.

  4. At the top, choose the source and target languages.

  5. Point your camera at the text or choose an image with text from your device's gallery. Wait until Yandex Translate processes the text.

  6. Tap to:

    • Copy text.
    • Open text in Yandex Translate if the translation is incorrect or incomplete.
