Resource management

In terms of the Yandex Advertising Network, a video resource is a group of video ad display spots on the same platform (site, mobile app, or Smart TV app).

Creating a video resource

To create a new video resource, register in the Yandex Advertising Network and send a request to add a video resource via the support service. To learn more about becoming a video partner, see New partners.

After you create a video resource, the Video ads section appears in the Yandex Advertising Network interface, and you can view your video resource under Video ads → Video resources. It'll get a unique ID (Page ID) and the New status.

After it passes moderation, the video resource status will change to Working. No statistics. You can now create InStream units and post them on your video resource.

Note

Each resource can host up to 200 active ad units. Move unused units to the archive. If you need to use more than 200 units on one resource, contact support.

Customizing player appearance

To customize the appearance of the player on your resource:

  1. Go to Video ads → Video resources.
  2. Click Edit next to the video resource you want to edit.
  3. Go to Appearance.

You can download a player skin in the Skinning unit if you're using your own player and Yandex Video SDK.

If you're using the Yandex video player, set the following options:

  • Description: Text to show at the beginning of an ad directly in the player (for example: Thanks to this ad, you can watch this video for free).
  • Time left until ad skip: Enable or disable the ad countdown.
  • Time left in ad unit: Set the countdown duration in seconds.

Granting access to a resource

You can grant access to your platforms in the Yandex Advertising Network interface to any user. A user with the Partner's assistant role will be able to view and edit the resource and units, and will also have access to statistical reports.

  1. Click Invite on the Invitations page, select an invitation language and specify your email address. A link to access the interface will be emailed to that address. Please note that the assistant requires Yandex ID in order to register in the Yandex Advertising Network.

  2. Once the assistant clicks the link and signs up:

    1. Go to Video ads → Video resources.
    2. Find the resource you want to grant access to in the list and click <sodipodi:namedview id="svg-cg46bhho__namedview2803" pagecolor="#ffffff" bordercolor="#000000" borderopacity="0.25" inkscape:showpageshadow="2" inkscape:pageopacity="0.0" inkscape:pagecheckerboard="0" inkscape:deskcolor="#d1d1d1" showgrid="false" inkscape:zoom="25.732538" inkscape:cx="14.90331" inkscape:cy="8.5106257" inkscape:window-width="1920" inkscape:window-height="1017" inkscape:window-x="-8" inkscape:window-y="-8" inkscape:window-maximized="1" inkscape:current-layer="i-ua1"/> → Edit.
    3. On the Access tab, enter the username your assistant used to sign up for the Yandex Advertising Network.
    4. Click Add.

If needed, check the Allow changes to video resource settings box to enable the user to modify resource settings, as well as create and edit ad units. In addition, any assistant can view the statistics on all the available ad resources and units, as well as create and save custom statistical reports.

Category restrictions

To restrict ads from a specific category:

  1. Go to Video ads → Video resources.
  2. Select the appropriate video resource and click Edit.
  3. Go to Categories.

Select one or more categories and subcategories from the list. To fully disable impressions for a category, select the category and subcategory, then choose Disconnect.

If the list does not contain the desired subject, contact support.

Restrictions for brands

To exclude certain brands, such as your competitors', from impressions:

  1. Go to Video ads → Video resources.
  2. Select the appropriate video resource and click Edit.
