Permissions
During installation, the «Yandex» app requests certain accesses and permissions it needs to work correctly. You can also grant some of them later.
What permissions does the «Yandex» app need to work?
Location
Required for generating search suggestions, widgets, and push notifications based on the user's location.
Microphone access
Required for voice search.
Access to the camera
Required for image search and the QR code scanner.
Notifications
Required to get messages and warnings from Yandex services.
How do I grant permissions after installing the app?
If you didn't grant required accesses and permissions when installing the «Yandex» app, you can always do it later
Location
- Open the device settings.
- Tap Yandex → Location.
- Make sure the While using the app option is enabled.
Microphone access
- Open the device settings.
- Choose Privacy → Microphone.
- Enable the option for Yandex.
Access to the camera
- Open the device settings.
- Choose Yandex.
- Enable the Camera option.
Access to contacts
- Open the device settings.
- Choose Privacy and security → Contacts.
- Enable the option for Yandex.
Notifications
- Open the device settings.
- Tap Yandex → Notifications.
- Enable the Allow notifications option.
