## Installing the app {#toinstall}

«Yandex» is a free app.

## Update the app {#toupdate}

The device's operating system automatically detects app updates and installs them in the background. You can also update «Yandex» app manually:

1. Open **Google Play**.
1. Tap the profile icon in the upper-right corner.
1. Select **Manage apps & device**.
1. Under **Updates available**, tap **See details**.
1. Find  and tap **Update**.

If «Yandex» app isn't on the list or it says **All apps are up to date**, this means you've already installed the latest version of the app.

## Delete the app {#dell}

If the app was installed by the device manufacturer, it can't be deleted.

1. Open **Google Play**.
1. Tap the profile icon in the upper-right corner.
1. Select **Manage apps & device** → **Manage**.

## Make Yandex your default browser {#by-default}

The path may vary depending on your device and Android version.

1. Open your device settings.
1. Go to **Apps** → **Default apps**.
1. Tap **Browser** and select **Yandex**.

To make all links open in the «Yandex» app, go to the home screen, tap **![](../_assets/profile-icon.png) (profile picture)** → **App settings**, and enable the option **Links to Yandex sites from third-party sites will open in the Yandex app**.
