Find people from your phone contacts
To get started with Yandex Telemost, sync your phone's contacts with the app. This way, you can quickly find and connect with anyone from your contact list. If you add or delete a contact on your phone, your contact list in the app will update automatically.
- Go to Profile → Contact settings.
- Enable the Sync with phone option.
- If the app requests access to your phone contacts, allow it.
I can't contact someone who I know has a Yandex Telemost account. What should I do?
This can happen for a few reasons:
- The user might have restricted incoming calls and messages in their privacy settings. Ask them to allow incoming calls and messages. How to grant permission
- You have been blocked. You will only be able to contact the person after they unblock you.
Invite to Yandex Telemost
To contact someone who isn't yet using Yandex Telemost, send them an invite link. To do this, go to Profile → Share contact → Share link.
When they follow the link, they will start a private chat with you. They will need a Yandex ID to log in.
By default, the link is a one-time link. Only one person can use it to contact you. The link expires after 24 hours if no one uses it. To invite more people with a single link and make it permanent, disable the One-time link option. Anyone who receives the link will be able to message you, so be careful who you share it with.
How to change a contact's name as it appears in the contact list
If the person is in your contact list, simply update their name in your phone contacts, and it will change automatically in Yandex Telemost. If the person isn't in your contact list, you can't change their name. Yandex Telemost displays the name they set in their Yandex ID.
Delete all phone contacts from the app
If you no longer need the contacts from your phone, you can delete them from the app. They will remain on your phone.
- Go to Profile → Contact settings.
- Disable the Sync with phone option.
- Press Delete contacts from the app.
If you synced contacts from multiple devices to a single account, deleting them on one device will only remove the contacts that were added from that specific device.
