New message notification
You can use any of the methods below to learn that you have received a new message.
With a pop-up notification inside a browser
You can receive notifications about new messages as soon as they reach your mailbox. You'll see such notifications even if the Yandex Mail tab is closed.
Note
Pop-up notifications are supported by the following browsers: Yandex (16.6 and above), Google Chrome (52 and above), and Mozilla Firefox (46 and above).
Select your browser:
Enable notifications in Yandex Mail:
- In the top right corner, click
→ All settings.
- Select Interface.
- Click Show new message notifications in browser in Notifications.
- Select the folders you want to configure notifications for.
- Save your changes.
After that you will see an automatic message in the browser:
- To disable notifications, click Allow in the automatic message https://mail.yandex.ru requires user consent to display notifications.
- Save your changes.
I clicked “Block” by mistake
Turn on notifications manually:
1. Go to → Settings in the browser.
2. In the menu on the left, click Sites.
3. Under Requests to send notifications, enable Show requests.
4. Under Notifications, click Other sites.
5. Find the row with the value https://mail.yandex.com:443
, select it, and click the Allow link on the right.
I closed the message by mistake
Turn on notifications manually:
1. Go to → Settings in the browser.
2. In the menu on the left, click Sites.
3. Under Requests to send notifications, enable Show requests.
4. Under Notifications, click Other sites.
5. On the Allowed tab, click Add in the upper right corner.
6. Add the Yandex Mail site https://mail.yandex.com:443
.
7. Click Add.
Enable notifications in Yandex Mail:
- In the top right corner, click
→ All settings.
- Select Interface.
- Click Show new message notifications in browser in Notifications.
- Select the folders you want to configure notifications for.
- Save your changes.
After that you will see an automatic message in the browser:

Turn on notifications manually:
1. Go to

2. Click Privacy and security in the menu on the left.
3. Click Site settings.
4. Go to Notifications.
5. In the Block list, find the row with the valuehttps://mail.yandex.com:443
. Next to the row, click→ Allow.

- Select the folders you want to configure notifications for.
- Save your changes.
After that you will see an automatic message in the browser:

In the automatic message Will you allow mail.yandex.com to send notifications?, select Allow notifications.

I clicked “Never Allow” by mistake
Turn on notifications manually:
1. Go to
→ Settings.
2. Go to the Privacy & Security tab.
3. Find the Permissions section.
4. In the Notifications line, click Parameters.
5. Selecthttps://mail.yandex.com
from the site list. Change its status to Allow.
6. Save your changes.
With a mobile device
You can configure push notifications and synchronization separately for each folder:

Pull the screen to the right.

Under the list of folders and labels, tap Settings.

Select the account where you want to receive notifications and synchronize selected folders.

In the Notify of new messages field, select one of the following options for each folder:
- Notifies about emails and downloads them — the content of the folder will be downloaded in the background mode with notifications of new messages.
- Sync without notification: The folder syncs in the background and you don't receive new email notifications.
- Do not sync — the folder syncs only if you open it.
Alert
When you disable email uploads, notifications are disabled as well. You can't disable email uploads and enable notifications at the same time.
For all the accounts on the device, you can choose when to silence notifications and pause vibration and visual alerts. Just follow these steps:
- Pull the screen to the right.
- Under the list of folders and labels, tap Settings.
- Select Mode “ Do not disturb ”.
- For Quiet, select a time to disable notifications.
If no notifications appear
There can be a few reasons for this.
Notifications are disabled in the app settings
- Follow the instructions above to enable them.
The app isn't running in background mode
- You don't receive notifications if background mode is disabled for Yandex Mail in your phone settings. Go to your phone settings and make sure that this option is enabled. If it's not, enable it.
The app doesn't launch automatically when you turn on your phone
- You don't receive notifications if autorun is disabled for Yandex Mail in your phone settings, Go to your phone settings and make sure that autorun is enabled. If it's not, enable it.
Power-saving mode is enabled

Power-saving mode usually blocks notifications. Go to your phone settings and make sure that power-saving mode is disabled. If it's not, disable it.
It's also possible that the power-saving mode turns on automatically when your battery is low.
A power-saving or speed booster app is installed
- Apps that help extend battery life or speed up your phone might impact notifications. For example, the CM Locker app uses a **** feature that restricts all notifications on the phone. Make sure you don't have any such apps installed on your phone. If you do, delete them.
You can configure notifications for each folder separately:
- Pull the screen to the right.
- Under the list of folders and labels, tap Settings.
- Select the account where you want to receive notifications.
- Enable notifications and then configure them for each folder separately.
To select the notification sound:
- Pull the screen to the right.
- Under the list of folders and labels, tap Settings.
- Select the account you want to change the sound for.
- Go to Sound and select “Yandex Mail” or “System”.
If no notifications appear
There can be a few reasons for this.
Notifications are disabled in the app settings
- Follow the instructions above to enable them.

- You don't receive notifications if background mode is disabled for Yandex Mail in your phone settings. Go to your phone settings and make sure that this option is enabled. If it's not, enable it.

Warning
You can enable notifications only in Chromium-based browsers (version 29 or newer).
Tap in the top left corner of the screen, then tap Settings under the folder list and enable Notifications.

With another email address
If you have multiple mailboxes, you can set up sending notifications about new messages in Yandex Mail to a different email address.
