Information for QIP Mail users

QIP.ru ended support for its email service. To prevent users from losing access to their mailboxes, QIP.ru migrated them to Yandex Mail servers. QIP Mail users can access their mailboxes in the Yandex Mail interface, keeping their old addresses and mailbox contents.

How do I gain access to my mailbox?

To log in to your email account, you have to enter your full email address (like login@qip.ru) and password on the login page, then provide your information to the service, specify a security question and answer in case you need to reset your password, and accept the terms of the User Agreement. After that, your Yandex ID will open, and you can go to Yandex Mail from there.

You can also access your mailbox via the Yandex Mail app. On the login screen, select Yandex in the list of email services and enter your username and password. Enter the full email address as the username.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Unfortunately, Yandex Mail doesn't have the information necessary to restore the password for your QIP mailbox.

How do I change my personal information?

Unfortunately, you can't edit your personal information (your name, date of birth, city, country, password, or two-factor authentication parameters).

An error occurs when I try to log in to my email account

If you see the error message "That username is invalid" or "This address doesn't exist", it means that QIP.ru didn't pass the information about your email account to Yandex. This means you can't use your QIP account in Yandex Mail. We're sorry about that.

I logged in to my email account and found some messages missing

Yandex grants QIP Mail users access to the information that QIP.ru has migrated to Yandex servers. Yandex did its best to minimize the risk of data loss, but some messages may have been lost before the migration.

Can I create a new email account with the same address as before?

If you had an account like login@qip.ru, you won't be able to create a new email account with the same address on Yandex. The reason is that QIP is still the domain owner. The mailboxes are hosted on Yandex servers, but Yandex can't manage them.

I can't log in to my email account, but it's linked to many sites. What should I do?

If you can't log in, it means that QIP.ru didn't pass the information about your account to Yandex. This means you can't use your QIP account in Yandex Mail. We're sorry about that.

If you used your QIP email address when creating accounts in online stores, on forums, or on other sites, you won't be able to receive emails from those sites. We recommend that you do the following to avoid losing those emails:

  1. Create a new Yandex Mail account with a new username. Your old username won't work.

  2. In the settings of your account in an online store, on a forum, or on another site, specify your new email address. New emails will be delivered at your new email address on Yandex.

    Note

    Some sites may require you to pass verification before you can change your account settings. You won't be able to use the old email address for that. Try to verify the change using your phone number or other methods.

Which email domains were affected by the migration?

Yandex Mail can be used by the owners of email accounts on any QIP.ru email domain.

Keep in mind that reliable email delivery depends on the domain configuration that is still managed by QIP.ru.

How do I delete my QIP account?

Unfortunately, you can't delete your account.

QIP accounts can be managed only by their administrator. Users are not allowed to do that themselves. The administrator of QIP accounts is still QIP, so Yandex can't delete a QIP account either.
