# Security in Yandex Disk

Storing files on Yandex Disk is safer than keeping them on a regular computer or phone.

- Yandex Disk cannot be broken or lost.
- All files stored on Yandex Disk are scanned with an antivirus.
- We use the latest technology to keep your files secure.
- All information transferred by the application or site is securely encrypted.

All files up to 1 GB that you create, upload, or store on Yandex Disk are scanned by the antivirus software.

## How long are files stored? {#time}

If there are no issues with access to Yandex Disk, the files are stored until you delete them. And even then, you'll have 30 days to [restore them from the Trash](https://yandex.com/support/yandex-360/customers/disk/web/en/actions-files/spec-folders/trash.md#restore-trash). But in some cases, files may be permanently deleted:

- If Yandex Disk [runs out of space](https://yandex.com/support/yandex-360/customers/disk/web/en/enlarge/disk-space.md#end) and more than 90 days pass since the block.
- If you don't [access Yandex Disk and use it](https://yandex.com/support/yandex-360/customers/disk/web/en/auth.md#inactive-user) for more than two years.
- If the files violate the [Yandex Disk Terms of Use](https://yandex.com/legal/disk_termsofuse) (Clause 4.3).
- If you delete your [Yandex ID](https://yandex.com/support/id/delete.html). Before deleting it, don't forget to [download the files you need to your computer](https://yandex.com/support/yandex-360/customers/disk/web/en/actions-files/download-all.md).

## Other people's photos and videos were uploaded to my Yandex Disk {#not-mine-files}

Someone else's files may end up on your Yandex Disk if you log in on someone else's mobile device. In this case, if auto-uploads are enabled, files from this device will upload to your Yandex Disk.

You can stop uploading other people's files to your Yandex Disk in the following ways:

**Log out on all devices**

: To prevent other people's files from uploading to your Yandex Disk, [log out of Yandex Disk](https://yandex.com/support/yandex-360/customers/disk/web/en/auth.md#exit) on all devices.

**Revoke program and app access**

: You can also revoke access of Yandex Disk programs and apps to your files on the server:

    1. Open the [Access management](https://passport.yandex.com/profile/access) page.
    1. Look through the list and find all the lines that feature `Yandex Disk`.
    1. Click each line and then click **Revoke**.

## What should I do if I lose the device on which I installed the Yandex Disk application? {#lost-device}
