View photos
All photos on Yandex Disk are collected in the Photos section for easy viewing.
To see your photos, click Photos in the panel on the left.
This page displays:
- Photos in
JPG
format you manually uploaded to Yandex Disk with a recorded date. - Photos in
HEIC
andHEIF
formats you manually uploaded to Yandex Disk. - Photos in
JPG
andPNG
formats and videos that were automatically uploaded to Yandex Disk from mobile devices.
Note
It isn't possible to manually add photos to this section because it is compiled automatically. If you want a photo to appear in this section, add to it the date it was taken on.
Photos section view
You can choose the view: display photos as a square grid or a smart tile (in this case, your photos are arranged in a beautiful gallery).
To select the view, in the top right corner of the page, click:
— to enable the square grid display.
— to enable the smart tile display.
Search for photos by date
If you need to find photos taken on a certain date quickly, use the panel on the right: hover over the date and click it.
Actions with photos
You can share your photos, add them to albums, move, rename, or delete them from Yandex Disk. You can also view the original photo or download it, as well as view the changelog.
You can view possible actions with photos:
- In the top panel, if you select a photo.
- In the top right panel, if you open the photo for viewing.
- In the context menu (you can access it by right-clicking anywhere in the photo).
To manage several photos at once, select the area where they are located. You can access all bulk operations from the top panel. To select multiple photos at once, click the first and last photo in the range while holding the Shift key. To select multiple photos, hold the Ctrl key on Windows or ⌘ on Mac OS X while selecting the files.
Note
You can select no more than 500 photos at a time.
Share photo
To share your photos with your friends:

Open the photo by clicking it.

Click
in the top panel.

If necessary, specify the security settings for the link.
Note
Available only in Yandex 360 plans.
- You can set a password so that the photo can only be viewed via a secure link when the user enters the password.
- Enable Set password.
- Enter a password that's at least 4 characters long and remember it.
- Click Done.
Once the password is set, you can edit or remove it.
Note
Users with whom you share the secure link to the photo won't be able to change the password.
If you share the link on social media or in a messaging app
- If you set a password and then share the secure link via social media or a messaging app, the preview and photo title will be hidden.
- If you share a public link via social media or a messaging app and set a password later, users will see a preview (if the file size doesn't exceed 50 MB) and the photo title.

You can disable downloads for a particular photo, so when users follow the photo link, the Download and Save to Yandex Disk buttons will be unavailable to them.
Alert
Keep in mind that they can still take a screenshot of the photo or save its preview to their device.

Set an expiration date: when the time expires, the link will be deleted and the photo will become unavailable to users until you share it again.

Choose the link sharing option from the list: copy the link, send it by email, or post it to social media. To get a QR code link, select the corresponding menu item. Move the slider to the left to make a photo private.
You can also click Share in the context menu or in the top panel when selecting a photo.
Add photos to album
Use one of these methods to add a photo to an existing album:
- Go to Albums in the left panel.
- Click
→ Add photo in the top right corner of the album's thumbnail.
- Select the desired photos and click Add to album in the top panel.
- Go to Photos from the left panel.
- Select photos.
- Click the Add to album button in the top panel.
- Click the thumbnail of the desired album.
- Select photos in any Yandex Disk folder.
- Click the Add to album button in the top panel or in the context menu.
- Click the thumbnail of the desired album.
Changelog
If you have changed a photo, you can see its changelog.
- Open the photo by clicking it.
- Click
→ Changelog in the top panel.
The Changelog is also available in the context menu or in the top panel.
Open the original photo
Yandex Disk doesn't compress photos and stores them in their original quality. However, Yandex Disk creates lower-resolution previews to improve performance and reduce data usage. You'll see a preview if the file size doesn't exceed 50 MB.
To view the photo in its original quality, click → Original size in the top panel.
Delete a photo
If you no longer need a photo, you can delete it.
- Open the photo by clicking it.
- Click
in the top panel.
You can also click Delete in the context menu or in the top panel.
Note
Photos are not physically copied to the Photos section, they're only displayed there. So, if you delete a photo from this section, it will also be deleted from Yandex Disk. If you delete a photo from this section by mistake, you can recover it.
