Log in, log out, and other account actions
Log in to Yandex Disk
After installation, the Yandex Disk program will prompt you to enter the username and password of your Yandex account. If you don't have a Yandex account, click Register. If you use or have previously used two-factor authentication, you'll need a one-time password generated by the Yandex Key mobile app to authorize in the Yandex Disk program.
Until you're logged in, the Windows notification area displays the icon .
To open Yandex Disk, click the program icon in the notification area. You can also log in to the program using the Yandex Disk shortcuts on the desktop or in the Start menu. If you haven't logged in immediately after installation, the program will ask you to enter your username and password when you first log in.
I can't log in to Yandex Disk

I can't open the program
If Yandex Disk doesn't open when you click the shortcut or the program icon in the notification area, try reinstalling it:
- Re-install the application.
- Log in to your account. If you still have any old Yandex Disk files on your computer, they will automatically sync with the server.
I can't remember my username, email address, password, or the answer to the security question
I remember my username and password, but I can't log in
Install the latest version of the program. Make sure that you've entered your Yandex account password correctly. If you use or have previously used two-factor authentication, you'll need a one-time password generated by the Yandex Key mobile app to authorize in the Yandex Disk program.
If you receive any of the following error messages:
An error occurred. Please check your internet connection.
- The program cannot connect to the server. Please check your Internet connection and try disabling your antivirus software or firewall. This error may also be caused by a proxy server.
Connection error. Please check your antivirus or firewall settings.

Check your internet connection.

Make sure that your computer's time and date are correct.

The ports used by the program must be open. Check if your provider, antivirus or firewall has blocked any of the following ports:
443, 5222
. -
Try disabling certificate verification in your antivirus settings.
For the Kaspersky lab products, turn off the secure connection check: Settings → Advanced → Network. Uncheck the Scan encrypted connections option.
For the ESET products, disable HTTPS protocol scanning: open the settings menu under the Computer Scan tab. Advanced settings → Web and email → Web access and antiphishing protection → Scanner setup → HTTP, HTTPS. Check the Do not scan HTTPS setting.

Manage accounts
In the Yandex Disk program, you can work with two accounts simultaneously. Synchronization and file auto-save will be performed in parallel for both accounts.
Add account

In the top-right corner, click your profile picture.

Select Add account.

Enter your username and password. If you use or have previously used two-factor authentication, you'll need a one-time password generated by the Yandex Key mobile app to authorize in the Yandex Disk program.

Tap Enter.
Note
It's not possible to add more than two accounts to the program. But you can log out of one the connected account and add a new one.
Switch between accounts

In the top-right corner, click your profile picture.

Select the account you want to switch to.

Switch to the account you want to log out from if it's not the currently active account.

What happens if I don't use Yandex Disk for a long time?
If you don't access or use Yandex Disk for more than two years, your account may be blocked and its data may be deleted.
Email with a block warning
We'll notify you about the upcoming block in advance. Within seven days of receiving the email, you can cancel the block on your own. All you need to do is just log in to Yandex Disk.
Yandex Disk block
If you don't cancel the block within seven days after receiving the warning, your Yandex Disk will be blocked. After that, you have three months to lift the block. We'll regularly remind you about the upcoming data deletion so that you have time to unblock Yandex Disk.
To lift the block and restore full access to Yandex Disk:
- Contact support. Specify the blocked account username in the email.
- Wait for a response email — we'll unblock Yandex Disk.
Alert
If you don't unblock your Yandex Disk, all files stored on it will be permanently deleted in three months.
