If you have an active Yandex 360 plan (See available plans), or your organization has an Optimal or Extended Yandex 360 for Business plan (Learn more about Yandex 360 for Business plans), you can protect your data by configuring security settings for the link.
For example, you can disable file editing and downloads, specify users who can access them, or set an expiration date for the link.
Note
You need to configure security settings for each link individually. You can view the full list of available settings in your desktop or mobile browser.
How to disable file editing for shared links
If you share a file link, select View only. Users with whom you share this link won't be able to edit your file.
Folders shared via a link are always view-only.
How to disable file downloads for shared links
Tap Disable downloads: other users won't be able to download, save, or print your files.
If you don't see this option, collab mode is likely enabled for the document. Disable it and you'll be able to prevent document downloads. To learn more about collab mode, see Help for Yandex Disk.
Note
You can't disable downloads for audio files. However, if you disable downloads for the folder they are located in, other users won't be able to listen to them. Please note that they will still be able to preview the video, record it, or take a screenshot.
How to set a link password
Tap Link password, enter a password with at least 4 characters, and tap
to copy it, or just remember it to tell the person you're sharing with. Later, you can change the password or disable it.
If the link to your file is password-protected, other users won't be able to edit it.
Note
If you share a password-protected link on social media or in a messaging app, the file or folder preview and name will be hidden from the recipients. However, if you add password protection to the link after you've already shared it, the preview (for files and folders up to 50 MB) and name will still show up.
Link expiration date
The expiration date determines how long the file or folder will be accessible to those who receive the link. Once the specified period ends, the link becomes invalid. For details on link expiration, see How long links are valid.
How to create a link for colleagues only in Yandex 360 for Business
Enable the Only inside the organization option to make the link available only to users created within your organization in Yandex 360 for Business.
-
Tap Share and choose how you want to share it: by email, in a messaging app, via Bluetooth, or other method.
You can find all files and folders that you've shared with others on the Shared access page in the web version of Yandex Disk.
How long links are valid
If you set an expiration date for your link, the link will become invalid after the specified period. After that, users won't be able to access the file until you share it again.
If you share the same file or folder again, Yandex Disk will generate a new link for it. But if you receive a link to an already shared file, it remains the same.
You can edit or remove the expiration date. When you remove the expiration date, your link becomes permanent.
If you don't set an expiration date, the link to the file or folder will continue to work until you revoke access. How to restrict access to a link
