Troubleshooting

Note

Yandex Calendar doesn't offer phone support. We only work with emails from users. This is efficient: you can attach screenshots to your email — this way, we'll solve the problem and help you faster.

The recommendations on this page may help you resolve the issue by yourself.

The browser doesn't display the page correctly

Your browser saves copies of the pages you visit in the cache to reduce traffic consumption. When you view these pages again, the browser can load their data from the memory. For example, if the browser loads your inbox page from the memory, you'll see an outdated number of new emails.

Try refreshing the page forcing it to load data from the internet.

If the problem persists, clear the browser cache and delete all cookies.

Add-ons are blocking Yandex Calendar

Yandex Mail may work incorrectly due to add-ons and extensions in your browser. To check this, temporarily disable them. If Yandex Calendar isn't working properly due to an ad blocker or an antivirus extension, add the Yandex Calendar site to the exceptions of this extension. To learn more, see Configure ad blockers and Configure exceptions for sites.

You're using an outdated browser

An outdated browser may not support the technologies used for loading pages quickly and easily. Install the latest version of your browser.

Symbols or strange characters may appear due to incorrect page encoding. The encoding can be changed by viruses or malware.

Check your computer for viruses with free antivirus software: Dr.Web CureIt! and Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool.

When a security certificate error occurs, you get the message:

  • "Your connection is not secure".
  • "This site presents a security threat to your computer".
  • "Incorrect certificate".
  • "Error in security certificate".
  • "This is an untrusted connection".

Here's why you're getting security certificate errors and how to fix it:

Untrusted connection or invalid security certificate errors may occur due to a conflict between the browser and computer settings. These errors may also be caused by your antivirus software. To find out why you're getting the certificate error, look for its code at the end of the message.

Error code

Solution

  • ssl_error_bad_cert_domain

Make sure that the correct address is entered in the browser's address bar: calendar.yandex.com or passport.yandex.com, and com is followed by /, not a dot or any other character.

  • err_cert_date_invalid
  • sec_error_oscp_invalid_signing_cert
  • sec_error_expired_issuer_certificate
  • sec_error_expired_certificate
  • sec_error_ocsp_future_response

Make sure that the date and time are set correctly on the computer. If the wrong date or time is set, the system may incorrectly determine that the certificate period hasn't started yet or that it has already expired.

  • err_cert_common_name_invalid
  • err_cert_authority_invalid
  • sec_error_unknown_issuer

Make sure that your antivirus settings are not configured to check HTTPS connections. See more information about doing it in Kaspersky Internet Security and ESET NOD32 Smart Security under the table.
If you don't have an antivirus software on your computer, hackers may replace your security certificate using malware or an MITM attack. Check your computer for viruses with free antivirus software: Dr.Web CureIt! and Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool.

  1. Open the antivirus window and click in the lower-left corner.

  2. Go to the Advanced settings tab and select Network.

  3. In the Check secure connections block, select Do not check secure connections and confirm the action.

Disabling HTTPS connection checks in ESET NOD32 Smart Security
  1. Open the antivirus window, go to the Setup tab, and click Advanced setup.

  2. In Web and email → SSL/TLS, turn off the Enable SSL/TLS protocol filtering option.

  3. In Web and email → Web access protection → Web protocols → HTTPS scanner setup, turn off the Enable HTTPS scanning option.

  4. Click OK to save changes.
