Record a video meeting

In Yandex Browser and in Yandex Telemost for desktop, you can record meetings no matter how long they are, be they short classes or three-hour marathon meetings. You just have to make sure you have enough disk space on your computer to store the video.

Note

In Google Chrome, you can record meetings up to 30 minutes long. You can't record meetings in Mozilla Firefox or Chromium.

To record a meeting, at the bottom of the screen, click  → Start recording. After that, you can see a timer showing the recording duration next to the icon.

When one of the participants starts recording, everyone else is notified. Multiple participants can record the meeting at the same time.

To stop recording, click Stop. Keep in mind that you can't collapse the recording program.

Alert

Only the person who started the recording can stop it. Even the meeting owner can't stop recording if they didn't start it.

When the recording is stopped, Yandex Telemost saves the video file to your computer. The default file name is “Meeting recording [date] [time] — recording.webm”, where date and time is when recording started.

If you used the chat while the recording was in progress, Yandex Telemost also prompts the participant who started the recording to save all messages to a separate file. Click Save to download the file to your computer or Cancel if you don't want to save it. The default file name is “Meeting recording [date] [time] — chat.txt”.

Where the meeting record is saved

When the recording ends, it starts downloading. After the download is completed, you can find it in Downloads in your browser.
