Live streams

A live stream is a video meeting where hosts and participants act as speakers for an audience of viewers.

Live streams can have up to 500 participants and up to 10,000 viewers. You can expand your limit to 1000 participants with a special add-on. How to get it

In the mobile app, participants can act as speakers, invite other participants, and chat during the live stream.

You can create and manage your live streams in the browser or the desktop application. This feature is available to organization employees on the Optimal or Extended plan. Learn more about plans

We recommend activating the plan in advance

It takes some time for live streams to become available once the plan is activated.

See how to create a live stream in Yandex Telemost Help:

Join a live stream

Participants can join a live stream using the link from a Yandex Calendar event or email notification.

Viewers can follow the link from the host to watch the stream directly in the browser.

You can open the link only an hour before the scheduled event starts. The connection screen displays a status message of the live stream: in progress or hasn't started yet.

In the mobile app, live stream participants can invite other participants and viewers using a link.

To share an invite link with participants, click  →  at the top of the screen.

To get an invite link for viewers during a live stream, click  → Link to live stream for viewers. The link will be copied. Send it to viewers via chat or email. You can also find links for participants and viewers in the event description in Yandex Calendar.

Add participants

To add new participants during a live stream, click  → Add participants.

Chat

During the live stream, hosts, participants, and viewers can talk in a chat.

To open a live stream chat, click at the top of the screen.

Once the live stream ends, only hosts and participants can view the chat history.
