Have discussions in threads

Threads are comments to messages. They open in a separate window to the right of conversations and help you keep chats and channels in order. To leave the first comment to a message, press next to it. If there are already comments in a thread, this icon is green and shows the number of replies.

Follow important threads

If something important is discussed in a thread and you want to stay updated on the issue, follow the thread by pressing . After that, you'll be notified of new messages in this thread.

You'll also automatically follow a thread if:

• You have communicated in it.
• You've marked a message from the thread as important or unread.
• You've been mentioned in a thread message.

Threads you follow are kept in the tab above the chat list. To quickly find unread thread messages, use the filter in the upper-right corner. To go to a thread from this list, press to the right of the message. To unfollow a thread, press .

Manage threads in channels and chats

As an admin of a group chat or channel, you can permit or forbid users to communicate in threads. If the Discuss messages option is disabled in settings, only chat and channel admins can leave comments to posts.
