Chats for administrators

Administrators of group chats can:

Add a member
  1. Open the chat.

  2. In the upper-right corner, press ( in iOS) and select Chat info.

  3. Select Members.

  4. Press Add.

  5. Find the user, select them, and press Add.

    If your organization uses Yandex 360 for Business, you can add members as well as entire groups or departments to the chat.

Find a user
  1. In the chat, press ( on iOS) and select Chat info.

  2. Select Members.

  3. Type the person's first name, last name, or username in the Search bar.

    If you're work in an organization that uses Yandex 360 for Business, type the name of the group or department in the Search bar, then press it to view all employees in that unit.

Delete a member
  1. Open the chat.

  2. In the upper-right corner, press ( in iOS) and select Chat info.

  3. Select Members.

  4. Find a member you want to delete.

    If you work in an organization that uses Yandex 360 for Business, you can search for employees, groups, or entire departments.

  5. Next to the person, press  → Remove from chat.

    I can't remove a Yandex 360 for Business group or department member from the chat

    You won't be able to do this the usual way. As long as someone is part of a group or department in the chat, they can use the chat. If you still need to remove them, you can:

    • Move them to another group or department.
    • Delete a group or a department from the chat, and then add each person individually.
    • Remove the person from a group or a department.

Add an administrator
  1. Open the chat.
  2. In the upper-right corner, press ( in iOS) and select Chat info.
  3. Select Members.
  4. Find the person in the list.
  5. Next to their name, press  → Make admin.
Remove an administrator
  1. Open the chat.
  2. In the upper-right corner, press ( in iOS) and select Chat info.
  3. Select Members.
  4. Find an admin you want to delete.
  5. Next to their name, press  → Remove from admins.
Pin a chat
  1. In the chat list, right-click on the name of the chat.
  2. Select Pin chat.
  1. In the chat list, tap and hold the chat.
  2. Select Pin chat.
Unpin chat

Chats

  1. In the list of pinned chats, right-click the chat.
  2. Select Unpin chat.
  1. In the list of pinned chats, tap and hold the chat.
  2. Select Unpin chat.
Move chat

Chats

  1. In the list of pinned chats, left-click and hold the chat.
  2. Move the chat.
  1. In the list of pinned chats, tap and hold the chat.
  2. Choose Reorder chat.
  3. Drag the chat icon to a new place.
Rename a chat and change description
  1. Open the chat.
  2. In the upper-right corner, press ( in iOS) and select Chat info.
  3. Go to Chat settings.
  4. Change the chat name and description.
Change permissions for chat members

You can allow or forbid:

  • Sending messages.
  • Editing and deleting messages.
  • Sending messages marked as important.
  • Pinning messages.
  • Adding new members.
  • Editing chat info.
  • Discussing messages.

To do this:

  1. Open the chat.
  2. In the upper-right corner, press ( in iOS) and select Chat info.
  3. Go to Chat settings.
  4. Make changes in the Member permissions section.
Enable public link

To allow members to share the chat link:

  1. Open the chat.
  2. In the upper-right corner, press ( in iOS) and select Chat info.
  3. Go to Chat settings.
  4. In the Access section, enable the Access the chat by link option.
Enable compact chat list

Note

This feature is only available in the web version and the desktop application.

  1. Click .

  2. In the Interface section, enable or disable Compact chat list.

    With this option enabled, more chats are seen on a single screen, but you can't see the messages until you open a chat.
