Attention! If the browser can't open the page you entered in the SmartBox, it suggests several ways to solve the problem.

Answers to basic questions

Sometimes users are looking for answers to simple questions, such as the current weather or conversion rates. If Yandex knows the precise answer to the user's question, the browser will show it right in the suggestions:

The browser knows the current time and weather in your city, as well as in other cities. It can tell you official currency conversion rates, the height of Kilimanjaro, or the depth of the White Sea. You can also use the SmartBox like a calculator:

Searchness mode

The SmartBox switches to Searchness mode when you enter a query.

A section with the name of the search engine and the search query text is shown in the left half of the SmartBox. Searchness mode restricts the search area: when you enter a query in the SmartBox, the system gives you search results only for the site that is shown in the left part of the address bar.

Turning on Searchness mode

Searchness is enabled automatically when you enter a search query either in the address bar, or on any site (provided it supports OpenSearch).

If you type a query in the SmartBox, you will get a page of search results from the search engine that is set in your browser settings as the Default search engine. This is the search engine that Searchness mode will use.

If you enter a search query on a site that supports OpenSearch technology, Searchness mode will use this site's search engine.

Turning off Searchness mode

To turn off Searchness mode:

Copying URLs in Searchness mode

If Searchness mode is turned on, the SmartBox displays the search query text, not the address of the open page.

To copy the page address, click the "x" on the site icon in the SmartBox, then click Copy:
