Reviews of organizations

Follow schema.org/Review rules when marking up corresponding pages so the reviews on your website are recognized by the search robot.

Supported fields

The properties of the Review schema that are taken into account by Yandex are described below. The Schema.org data type that the property value should correspond to is indicated in parentheses.

Properties supported by Yandex but missing in the standard schema are in bold.

  • name (Text) — title of the review.

  • url (URL) — permanent link to the review. Mandatory attribute.

  • mobileUrl — permanent link to the mobile version of the review's page. If you are using the mobile version of the page with a list of reviews, provide a link to a specific review marked by an anchor. If the partner does not have a mobile version or the field is not provided , the full text of the review will appear in Yandex applications.

  • reviewsurl (URL) — URL of the page with other reviews of items of the same type. One review may include several reviewsurl elements for comparative reviews or for different groups of reviews. For example, a restaurant review may include two different reviewsurl elements: one link can forward to a list of all reviews about this restaurant, and the other to a list of reviews about all restaurants available on the website.

    Pages with addresses listed in reviewsurl fields can get improved snippets in the search results.

  • reviewBody (Text) — full text of the review.

  • datePublished (Date) — publication date of the review.

  • dateVisited (Date) — date of the visit to the organization for which the review was created.

  • author (Person) — details of the review author.

    • name (Text) — name of the author.

    • officialWebPage (URL) — the author's official website.

    • url (URL) — link to the author's page on the website where the review was published.

  • pro (Text) — brief description of the organization's strengths. We recommend that you mark every individual plus with the pro property:

    <ul>
      <li itemprop="pro">Light spacious interior.</li>
      <li itemprop="pro">Lush interiors.</li>
    </ul>
  • contra (Text) — brief description of the organization's weaknesses. We recommend that you mark every individual minus with the contra property:

    <ul>
      <li itemprop="contra">Dirty, not spacious.</li>
      <li itemprop="contra">Wine quality not up to par.</li>
    </ul>
  • reviewRating (Rating) — the rating given by the review author to the organization.

    • ratingValue (Text) — value of the rating.

    • worstRating (Number or Text) — the minimum value of the rating. If no value is provided, the minimum rating is assumed to be 1.

    • bestRating (Number или Text) — the maximum value of the rating. If no value is provided, the maximum rating is assumed to be 5.

  • tag (Rating) — the rating of an individual feature of the organization. It should be rated similarly to the general rating in the rating field. The rated feature should be specified in ratingTarget.

    • ratingValue (Text) — numeric value of the rating.

    • ratingTarget (Text or URL) — the rated feature of the organization. To correctly mark the rating of a feature, include a link to the corresponding XML document in the page code. We recommend using the <link> tag for this:

      <link itemprop="ratingTarget" href="https://webmaster.yandex.ru/vocabularies/ReviewBusiness/Location.xml"/>

      Supported features of organizations (with a link to the corresponding XML document included in the name of each feature):

      For example, the rating of a restaurant's location can be marked up as follows:

      <p itemprop="tag" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Rating">
        <link itemprop="ratingTarget" href="https://webmaster.yandex.ru/vocabularies/ReviewBusiness/Location.xml">
        Quite hard to reach, the restaurant's location is rated
        <span itemprop="ratingValue">2</span> out of <span itemprop="bestRating">5</span>
      </p>
    • worstRating (Number or Text) — the minimum value of the rating. If no value is provided, the minimum rating is assumed to be equal to that of the reviewRating property.

    • bestRating (Number или Text) — the maximum value of the rating. If no value is provided, the maximum rating is assumed to be equal to that of the reviewRating property.

  • itemReviewed (Organization or Place) — description of the reviewed organization.

    The organization type can be indicated in the itemtype attribute.
