# Imitation of user actions
User behavior simulation refers to an unethical method of site promotion in which the owner artificially inflates their search traffic. The goal is to make the site popular and improve its search ranking. Such sessions distort the site's behavioral statistics and don't represent genuine interest, which classifies this method as search spam.
If Yandex algorithms detect this violation on your site, it will be subject to restrictions. This may affect the ranking of the entire site or some of its sections. The restriction will be lifted when the violation is fixed and the algorithms verify that it's not happening again.
## What qualifies as user behavior simulation
- Using special software or services that automatically imitate user traffic from search engines.
- Deliberately engaging ordinary users to fake visits to your site. For instance, by giving them special assignment such as entering a search and following your specific link.
- Providing services for artificially inflating search traffic.
## How to fix or prevent the violation
Avoid using unethical practices:
- Make sure the site doesn't have any modules that could assist in user behavior simulation.
- Make sure that none of the individuals or agencies involved in the development of your site are using dishonest methods.
