Low-quality sites link to my site

We tried to develop our ranking algorithms to make it difficult to externally manipulate a site's indexing or ranking. If you don't want users to land on your site from these links, please contact the site owners who are linking to your site, or the hosting providers who are hosting these sites. If the links are removed, the information about them will automatically disappear from Yandex.Webmaster.

The number of inbound links to my site has increased dramatically

The robot tracks changes on sites. If new links to your site have appeared on some pages, you will see this information in the LinksExternal links section in Yandex.Webmaster.

A page doesn't link to my site anymore, but it is still shown in Yandex.Webmaster

Links are shown in Yandex.Webmaster as long as they are stored in the search engine's database. If links to your site have already been deleted from some pages, the information about them will eventually disappear from Yandex.Webmaster. This will happen as soon as the indexing bot crawls the pages where the links were previously located.

Data about external links is constantly updating

The information about external links is updated as soon as the robot detects changes on pages, so the number of links and the list of links are continually being updated.

There is a link to my site that isn't shown in Yandex.Webmaster

A link might not be shown in Yandex.Webmaster if:

  • The page that links to your site isn't indexed — it's not in Yandex search results (and the page won't appear in search results in the near future).
  • The link might point to a secondary mirror of your site using a different protocol (HTTP or HTTPS), or with or without the "www" prefix.
  • If your resource has multiple links to the same page on your site that contain the same text, only one of these links is shown in Yandex.Webmaster.
  • The link is formatted as text, meaning it isn't a clickable hyperlink (for example, "www.yandex.com").
  • The link doesn't point directly at your site, but links via an intermediary page with a redirect (including a link from a social network).
  • The link was very recently added to the page. The robot hasn't indexed this page yet.
