# Working with an experiment

1. Plan out the experiment. Make sure that the app works properly and is accessible to users.

    The experiment collects statistics based on the behavior of real users of the app. With more events, the experiment becomes more sensitive and can detect and record smaller changes in metrics.

2. [Create an experiment](https://yandex.com/support/varioqub-app/en/web/create.md).

3. [See statistics](https://yandex.com/support/varioqub-app/en/web/stat.md) to draw conclusions from the experiment's results.

## Exporting experiment data {#testids}

You can export a list of experiment variant IDs by using the [Data Stream API](https://appmetrica.yandex.com/docs/en/mobile-api/datastream/data-type-fields#events).

<!-- source: en/_includes/paid-option.md -->
{% note info %}

The option is available with [paid AppMetrica pricing plans](https://appmetrica.yandex.com/docs/en/common/pricing/ru-currency).

{% endnote %}

To export data, use the `testids` field:

**Field** | **Data type** | **Description**
---- | ---- | ----
`testids` | _Array(Integer)_ | Array of experiment variant IDs.

You can find the IDs of your experiment's variants in the [Varioqub report](https://yandex.com/support/varioqub-app/en/web/stat.md) by hovering over a variant's name in the table.

You can also get a list of IDs and names of your experiment's variants the following way:

1. Go to AppMetrica.

2. Open the **A/B experiments** page.

3. In the upper-right corner, click ![Three dots](../_images/menu-apps.svg) next to the **Create experiment** button.

4. Select **Download variant IDs**.
