What data is sent by Yandex.Transport

When you use the app, Yandex collects and sends data to its servers. This data is necessary for the operation and functions of the app, collecting statistics, and resolving technical problems.

All data is processed by Yandex according to the terms and conditions of the Privacy Policy and the License Agreement for the use of Yandex.Transport on Mobile Devices.

You can only opt out of data collection, which cannot be disabled by the app settings or by your device's system settings, by deleting the app.

Location

  • Determines and displays the user's city.
  • Displays the movement of public transport on the map in real time.
  • Used to provide directions.

  • Used in the Reminder function.
  • Used in functions for a specific region. For example, the bridge-raising schedule in Saint Petersburg.
Attention. The app will not function correctly without this data.

The sending of location data can be disabled in the system settings of a device.

The Reminder function works if its option is enabled in the settings of the app.

To disable it, go to Profile → Profile settings → Reminder.

Unique identifier of the mobile device
  • Used to provide directions.
  • Used to show personalized promotions and gifts in the Promo codes section.
  • Used to synchronize app data between different devices belonging to the user, as well as with Yandex.Maps and Yandex.Navigator.
  • Used to add and show favorite transport methods and routes.
You cannot use the app without this data. If you do not want to send this data, then do not use the app.
Unique identifier of the user
  • Used to synchronize app data between different devices belonging to the user, as well as with Yandex.Maps and Yandex.Navigator.
  • Used to provide directions.
  • Used to display the movement of public transport on the map in real time and public transport stops.
You cannot use the app without this data. If you do not want to send this data, then do not use the app.

Name, surname, email address and user's photographs (if available) authorized by an account on Yandex

  • Used to synchronize user search queries and favorite places.
  • Used to receive achievements in the My achievements section.
If you do not want to send this data, do not sign in to the app.

Statistics and crash reports

In addition to the information required for individual functions of the app to operate, data about crashes and anonymized usage statistics are sent to Yandex servers.

When an app or individual components of it unexpectedly shut down, a crash report is sent to the server.Used to identify errors and debug the app.You cannot use the app without this data. If you do not want to send this data, then do not use the app.

The following usage statistics are periodically sent to the server:

  1. Device technical specifications (model, platform, operating system version, version of app).
  2. Device region and language.
  3. Time data: date and time zone on the user's device.
  4. Data about the type of connection and network.
  5. Data about user actions in the app.
Used to count the total number of app users and collect other statistics.
Attention. The data is sent in an anonymized form and is used by the app team to analyze statistics in aggregate. The collection of statistics does not threaten the security of your personal data.
You cannot use the app without this data. If you do not want to send this data, then do not use the app.
