What is Yandex.Transport

This is an app that lets you to track public transportation in real time. You can:
  • find out when buses, trams, and trolleybuses arrive at your stop
  • plan your journey through the city on the transport you need
  • see the current traffic conditions in the city
  • top up your travel card

How the app works

Buses, trams, and trolleybuses are equipped with sensors. They send information about their movement to the transportation companies. The companies pass this data on to us.

We receive traffic signals approximately every 30 seconds and process them using a prediction algorithm. This lets the transport icons move smoothly on the map.

If the signal is inconsistent or imprecise, the app data may differ from the actual situation.

Not every company sends their data, so the app doesn't display all transportation services.
