Translate a webpage

Enter the address of the website you want to translate in the text entry field. Then tap Translate site.

Choose the target language if needed.

How to translate websites in Safari
To translate websites in Safari, you must install the Yandex.Translate extension:
  1. Launch Safari and open a webpage.
  2. Tap .
  3. In the menu that appears, tap More in the bottom row and then choose Translate from the list. Tap Done to finish.

To translate a webpage, tap and choose Translate.

The language of the page will be detected automatically and translated into the language you have selected in your iOS settings.

Switch the language

To change the source or the target language, tap the language and choose the language you need from the list.

To switch the translation direction, tap .

Copy the translation

Tap on the translation. You should see the pop-up message “Translation copied”.

Delete the entered text with one gesture

Delete text by swiping left in the text field.

Restore the text previously entered in the input field

Restore the text by swiping right in the text field.

You can also find translations of previous texts in your History.

Translate texts in third-party apps

Restriction.

Translation in third-party applications is only available on mobile devices running Android 6.0 and higher.

Yandex.Translate can only be used in third-party apps if the developer granted other applications the right to read and change text.

Yandex.Translate can translate words, texts, and whole sites, as well as text you want to understand in other apps on your device.

Highlight the text you wish to translate in your third party app, and choose Yandex.Translate in the context menu that appears.

Turn the automatic language detection on or off

Go to Settings and toggle the Detect language option on or off.

Type text in any language (for instance, Thai)

You can set up the keyboards you need in your mobile device's settings.

If the keyboard you need cannot be found in the settings, you can try downloading it from the AppStore or Google Play.

View translations in full-screen mode

To view the translated text in full screen mode, tap .

Sync the Favorites lists

You can view the words from the Favorites list from any device — computer, smartphone or tablet. To do this, sync the lists across all devices:

  1. Log in to the service and mobile app.
  2. Open the mobile app.
  3. At the bottom of the app screen, tap .
  4. Tap .

Open translation history

The History saves all translated texts.

At the bottom of the app screen, tap and go to the History tab.

Use Apple Watch and Android Wear

Say a word or a phrase — the translation will appear on the watch screen.
Note. The language of the dictated message in Yandex.Translate on Apple Watch should be the same as the interface language set in your iOS settings.

Translation problems when using multiple languages in the source text

Click the language in the source block and disable the Detect language option.
