Solutions to popular tasks

In Toloka, you can create various tasks and send them out for completion. This section provides instructions for the most common tasks.

Before you start

Make sure you're registered as a requester.

If you have a complex project, register in the sandbox and create a project there. It lets you test the settings of your project as a performer and then transfer them to the Toloka production version and put them into use by real performers. This way you can avoid making mistakes and spending money if it turns out that your task is not functioning.

List of examples

  • Working with audio
    • Audio transcription — The performer receives an audio recording and has to type the text they hear. Checking such tasks can be assigned to other performers as a classification task.
    • Voice recording — The performer receives a phrase or text fragment to record and has to attach the audio file as the response. These tasks are easier to run in the mobile app for Android and iOS.
  • Working with images
    • Object classification is a multiple choice task. Examples are moderating content or grouping images by category.
    • Image area selection — The performer gets a photo and has to select one or more images in it. These tasks are easier to run in the web version.
  • Data collection
    • Survey — Set requirements for the responders you want to use and take a poll.
    • Field survey — The performer gets a point on the map to go to, check something, and take a photo for verification. Field surveys are completed in the Toloka mobile app for Android and iOS.
