Warning about a potentially harmful site

Some web resources contain malware as well as useful information. Visiting these sites may infect your computer with viruses or lead to the damage or theft of data.

To protect users, Yandex regularly checks indexed sites for malware. If malware is detected, a warning is displayed in the snippet of the infected resource: “This site may compromise the security of your computer or mobile device”.

Yandex antivirus and Sophos® products are used to check pages.

We don't remove infected sites from search results, because they may contain unique and useful information that is relevant to your query.

By visiting such sites, you put your computer or mobile device at risk. There's always a chance that you don't catch a virus, because certain conditions are often required for malware to work (such as a particular browser version or specific software installed on your computer). It's also possible that not all of the site pages are infected.

However, you shouldn't ignore warnings of a potential threat. If you still need to go to the site, use its cached copy or take other security measures.
