I forgot the answer to my security question

The security question is needed if you want to delete your account, or if you lost access to your account and there are no other ways to recover access to it.

If you can log in to your account

Try to remember the answer by entering it on the security question editing page.

Make sure you are entering the answer correctly:
  • Check your keyboard layout.
  • If you have used transliteration, try different options, for example “dostoyevski” and “dostoevsky”.
  • If you were using a date or phone number as the answer, try using different writing formats, such as DDMMYY and MMDDYYYY.

After several unsuccessful attempts to enter the answer to your security question, Yandex.Passport will ask you to contact support.

If you can't log in to your account:

Go to the Restore access page, enter your username and the characters shown in the captcha. When you click Next, Yandex.Passport will ask you to enter the answer to your security question.
