Managing bids via YML

For more information about managing bids in Yandex.Market, see the section Managing bids/What bids affect.

To indicate bids in the YML file, use the following attributes for the <offer> element:

The bid and cbid elements must have positive integer values. For example: 21, which corresponds to a bid of 0.21 Yandex units.

To select optimal values for bid and cbid, we recommend using bid selection tools. For detailed information, see the section Selecting and setting bids. If neither of these attributes is found, the CPC is determined using the fixed price specified in Yandex.Market general terms of service.

If bid is set but cbid is not, it is assumed that cbid = bid. If cbid is set but bid is not, bid is equal to the fixed CPC.

Example:

<offer id="107" type="vendor.model" bid="23" cbid="43" available="true">
    <url>http://best.seller.ru/product_page.asp?pid=12344</url>
    <price>55</price>
    <currencyId>USD</currencyId>
    <categoryId>35</categoryId>
    <picture>http://best.seller.ru/img/img12344.jpg</picture>
    <pickup>true</pickup>
    <store>false</store>
    <delivery>false</delivery>
    <typePrefix>Наушники</typePrefix>
    <vendor>SONY</vendor>
    <model>MDR-CD480</model>
    <description>Отличные наушники для плеера и компьютера.</description>
</offer>

In the example given above, a click-through from the Yandex.Market section on Yandex search will be equal to 0.23 Yandex units (bid="23"), and from the Цены в интернете page (all product offers) it will be 0.43 Yandex units (cbid="43"). If a user sorted offers on the Цены в интернете page other than the default sorting, the click will cost 0.1 Yandex units (fixed CPC).

Examples and recommendations

You can use the single bid for all positions with the ability to manage the CPC. In this case, use the bid parameter:

<offer id="107" type="vendor.model" bid="15" available="true">
    <url>http://best.seller.ru/product_page.asp?pid=12344</url>
    <price>55</price>
    <currencyId>USD</currencyId>
    <categoryId>35</categoryId>
    <picture>http://best.seller.ru/img/img12344.jpg</picture>
    <pickup>true</pickup>
    <store>false</store>
    <delivery>false</delivery>
    <typePrefix>Наушники</typePrefix>
    <vendor>SONY</vendor>
    <model>MDR-CD480</model>
    <description>Отличные наушники для плеера и компьютера.</description>
</offer>

You can use priority placement just for the product profile. In this case, use the cbid parameter:

<offer id="107" type="vendor.model" cbid="25" available="true">
    <url>http://best.seller.ru/product_page.asp?pid=12344</url>
    <price>55</price>
    <currencyId>USD</currencyId>
    <categoryId>35</categoryId>
    <picture>http://best.seller.ru/img/img12344.jpg</picture>
    <pickup>true</pickup>
    <store>false</store>
    <delivery>false</delivery>
    <typePrefix>Наушники</typePrefix>
    <vendor>SONY</vendor>
    <model>MDR-CD480</model>
    <description>Отличные наушники для плеера и компьютера.</description>
</offer>
Attention!

Before sending Yandex.Market a new YML file with specified bid values, validate it in the Partner interface on the Прайс-лист in the Ассортимент. For more information, see the section Working with the price list.

Checking statistics

You need statistics in order to analyze the effectiveness of publishing on Yandex.Market. Information about the types of statistics available can be found in the section Order statistics for online stores. These statistics contain complete data, including users' click-throughs from the Yandex.Market section on Yandex search and on partner sites in the Yandex Advertising Network.

When viewing logs on your web server, users transferring from Yandex search (free of charge) and the Yandex.Market section on Yandex search (paid) look exactly the same, which might cause discrepancies with Yandex.Market statistics.

To avoid this problem, you can add the “from=ya” or “from=market” marker to the URL for product offers prepared for placement on Yandex.Market, and then analyze the web server's logs for the presence of this parameter in the URLs of transfer pages. This way, no matter where the transfer was made, this parameter in the URL lets you single out users who came from Yandex.Market ads.

Example:

<url>http://www.xxx.ru/product_page.asp?pid=12345&from=ya</url>

For more information about transmitting data in Yandex.Market, see the section Requirements for the Data Transmission Method. Description of the YML data format.
