Yandex Advertising Network Rules

Sites and mobile apps must pass moderation to participate in the Yandex Advertising Network. Moderators check resources for compliance with our rules.

After your website passes moderation, you will be able to create and place ad blocks. Of course, you must always comply with the YAN rules. The following actions are forbidden:

  • “Artificially inflating” impressions and clicks.
  • Drawing attention to your ad blocks.
  • Editing the content of displayed ads (such as changing the links or configuring redirects).
  • Changing the display behavior of an ad by using modifying the ad code.
  • Posting more ads than content.

Yandex constantly checks resources for compliance with the rules. If a site or app violate the rules, they are immediately removed from the YAN. The account is permanently blocked.

Attention. You can read the full list of our rules and requirements in the following documents:

I would like to report a site's violation of the Advertising Network's Terms of Participation

Please notify us if you come across a website that does not comply with Yandex Advertising Network rules. Describe the violation detected so that we can investigate the matter.

A third-party company offered to help me increase my ad click-through rate

We do not recommend using the help of people or organizations offering increased CTR, clicks, site audience, revenue, etc. In most cases, their employed methods are prohibited and may lead to your account being blocked. Moreover, they might perform actions without your knowledge or consent. Usually they require you to share a portion of the additional revenue that you could earn from their actions.

In such cases, all risk is borne by the ad platform owner. The owner not only loses money, but will be permanently banned from the YAN due to violations of the Terms of Participation, which prohibit the use of systems that artificially boost ad impressions and click-throughs. Remain diligent and skeptical of all offers for quick and easy money.

Please let us know if you receive an offer like this. This will help us improve our security system to prevent similar fraudulent actions in the future.

I would like to attract more users to my pages that contain ads

We do not recommend artificially attracting more users to pages containing Yandex ads, as an increase in incoming traffic to your site could lead to invalid ad impressions and clicks. According to our Terms of Participation, our partners are prohibited from directly or indirectly creating artificially contrived queries, ad impressions, and clicks. Keep in mind that any use of services that attract additional users to earn money for ad impressions or clicks as well as any use of automated click and view exchange programs will negatively affect our advertisers and could cause your site to be permanently blocked from the Yandex Advertising Network.

We recommend against using other services that attract additional users to pages of your site. A much more effective strategy for your site would be to add new pages with original and interesting content so that users would actually want to repeatedly visit your site. As a rule, this increases the number of users, helps you create a loyal audience, and increases your revenue.

Is it possible to restore a blocked account?

Unfortunately, blocked accounts cannot be restored. Keep in mind that these measures were taken only after a thorough analysis, which revealed a threat to the security of our advertisers' ad materials on sites registered under your account.

I would like to place ad blocks from other ad systems on my site

You can place ad blocks from other ad systems on the same page as Yandex ad blocks. However, in accordance with the Terms of Participation of the Advertising Network, ad blocks from other systems must be different from Yandex ad blocks (they must be designed in a different format and with a different color scheme). Ad code from other content-based advertising systems must not interfere with the execution of ad code from the Yandex Advertising Network and must not in any way affect the displayed ads.

Note that YAN blocks can display advertising from other systems (alternative advertising in Yandex.Direct blocks or your own advertising in RTB blocks).

I would like to make modifications to Yandex ad block code

According to the Terms of Participation for the Yandex Advertising Network, partners shall not modify Yandex ad block code in any way. In addition, partners shall not:

  • Modify hyperlink addresses contained in ads or use any other means to modify Yandex-defined user redirects from ads, substitute or use any other means to hinder user access to pages or sites specified in hyperlinks within ads.

  • Delete, edit, or displace an ad or page containing an ad, apply filters to it, modify the order, type, or other characteristics of ad display.

If any of these rules are violated, a partner account on the Yandex Advertising Network may be blocked.

I would like to use my own scripts to count statistics on ad blocks

Yandex does not inspect any external scripts. If any use of a script results in a violation of our Terms of Participation, the Advertising Network partner's account may be blocked.
