Yandex Mediation

Yandex Mediation is a free platform that lets you display ads from multiple ad networks (demand platforms) in a mobile app. Each ad network offers ads for the impression, and Yandex Mediation automatically selects the one with the best price for the publisher.

Benefits of Yandex Mediation

  • The more ad networks, the higher the chances that a suitable ad will be found for the placement.
  • The best offer is selected out of all the available offers.
  • Connecting to international ad networks allows you to show relevant ads to users from different countries.

Yandex Mediation is available to iOS and Android app owners. The Yandex Advertising Network is enabled as one of your available ad networks by default. You can also configure impressions from other ad networks:

  • Google AdMob (ex. AdMob)
  • AppLovin

  • IronSource
  • Liftoff (ex. Vungle)
  • Mintegral
  • Pangle

  • Tapjoy
  • Unity Ads
  • VK Ads (ex. myTarget)
  • Google AdMob (ex. AdMob)

  • VK Ads (ex. myTarget)

How it works

When the user goes to the ad screen, the app sends a request to Yandex Mediation. The platform then determines which ad from which ad network will bring the most revenue when displayed.

For networks that use In-App Bidding, Yandex Mediation requests bids directly from all networks at the same time.

Ad networks connected via a Smart Waterfall also compete for impressions. After the bidding networks respond, the ML algorithm predicts whether other networks can offer higher bids:

  • If the algorithm decides that it's possible, yandex Mediation will send an ad request to that network.
  • Otherwise, it immediately serves the most profitable ad from the bidding network.

For a list of ad networks that support In-App Bidding or Smart Waterfall, go to the Ad sources section.

Payments

Yandex Mediation does not aggregate payments from other ad networks. This means that the money you receive for ads from other ad networks comes directly from those networks.

You receive remuneration from the Yandex Advertising Network once your revenue reaches a certain threshold. The threshold depends on the form of partnership and your country of residence. To learn more about receiving remuneration, see Documents and payments.

Statistics

To create a Yandex Mediation report:

  1. Go to the Statistics section.
  2. Change the statistics level: instead of YAN, select Mobile Mediation in the drop-down list on the left.
  3. Create a report based on a template or create a new report from scratch by following the instructions.

By default, Yandex Mediation reports show your estimated revenue in a given currency and in rubles by day, demand platform, ad placement, and ad type. To calculate revenue, it uses the data on impressions and CPM floors set for the ad units of the ad networks that you connected.

For some ad networks, you can enable the collection of statistics from your external ad network account: in this case, your Yandex Advertising Network reports for the selected network will show accurate data on impressions and revenue. For more information about Yandex Mediation reports, see Yandex Mediation statistics.
