Moderation

Moderation steps and timeframes

  1. Once you add your site, it will be automatically submitted for moderation. Your site with a unique ID and the Under moderation status will appear in the Ads on websites → Sites section in the Yandex Advertising Network interface.

  2. Site moderation usually takes less than one day. However, it can take longer in some rare cases.

After moderation is complete, you'll see a message about the moderation results on the Notifications tab. If the resource passes moderation, its status will change to Testing and then to Active.

You can create and place ad units immediately after creating your site. However, you can only receive revenue for impressions if the site's status is Active.

Low-quality ad traffic to the advertiser's site

  • The ad unit appears in an area where the user is about to click (for example, to go to another site page or close a pop-up).
  • An ad unit overlaps the page content, and it's unclear how to dismiss it.
  • The site offers a reward per click on the ad unit.
  • Ad units are preloaded, which can cause the page to shift, leading to accidental clicks.
  • Clickable site elements are on top of ad units, or ad units are placed too close to interactive elements.
  • Place ad units so they don't interfere with site navigation or cause accidental clicks.
  • Don't encourage users to click on ads.
  • Place high-quality and unique content that improves ad traffic quality.

Repeatedly blocked resources may be permanently rejected, with no option for further moderation or re-submission.

The site doesn't meet the Rules of Participation in Yandex Advertising Network for other reasons

According to the Rules of Participation in Yandex Advertising Network, Yandex reserves the right to reject any resource without explaining the reason behind the decision.

For more information on when this rule can be applied, see the information below the table.

Make sure to examine the list of possible violations (see under the table below) and improve the quality of your resource.

How do I apply?

1. Go to Sites or Apps. 2. Click Go next to the resource name in the list. 3. Click Actions → Send to moderation. The button will be available 30 days after your last rejection.

If moderation reveals violations that Yandex deems critical, Yandex reserves the right to disallow the resource to participate with no further re-moderation (pursuant to the Rules of Participation in Yandex Advertising Network).

The application can also be rejected if your site:

  • Contains text that is automatically generated or doesn't make sense.
  • Is filled with invisible or barely discernible text or links.
  • Hosts altered or unaltered information copied from other resources.
  • Is difficult or confusing to navigate.
  • Automatically redirects the user to another resource or misleads the users into visiting another resource (hosts ads with no actual content).
  • Aggressively tries to link the user to another site or group of sites (link farming).
  • Displays different content to users compared to the content displayed to search engine bots (cloaking).
  • Uses fraudulent methods for getting clicks and impressions.

In addition to the fraud techniques described above, there are other techniques for influencing ad serving or a site's ranking in Yandex. Using such techniques may also provide enough grounds to reject the application.

If your resource was blocked due to invalid clicks and impressions, but you believe that it doesn't violate the Rules of participation in Yandex Advertising Network and the requirements for placing ad units, submit a review blocking application. Your resource will be verified again, but this doesn't guarantee a revision of the decision.

Alert

Besides moderating new resources that are submitted to join Yandex Advertising Network, Yandex may also perform repeat moderation of existing members of the network. If re-moderation reveals critical violations, the partner's site or account may be blocked. Learn more about blocking accounts
