Protect: blocking dangerous content

Sometimes websites that are generally secure may contain dangerous elements, e.g. banners from infected sources. Yandex.Browser blocks such elements. Information on infected and fraudulent websites is taken from a special database compiled by Yandex and our partners.

Elements from infected resources

If your target page contains elements (e.g., banners, scripts or side bars) from infected or fraudulent websites, the browser will display a threat warning. If you go to the page by clicking Ignore this warning button, your browser will display the page blocking the unsecure elements:

You cannot load the blocked content, because it presents a serious risk to your computer. As the browser only downloads secure elements, page coding may be displayed incorrectly.

Disable blocking

Attention! To disable dangerous content blocking, you need to completely disable protection from malicious software and websites in your browser. We do not recommend this.

To disable dangerous content blocking:

  1. Click the icon
    [no-highlight[

In the upper-right corner of the browser

    ]no-highlight]

  2. In the lower part of the Settings page, click the Show advanced settings button.

  3. In the Privacy section, disable the Enable protection from malicious websites and programs option.
  4. Restart the browser to apply the changes.
