Route navigation

When you move along a route, the app shows the direction and route parameters.

Camera on the route

Before turns, the cursor may shift left or right to show you more of your route ahead. This works when the North is always up option is disabled.

Faster route

Yandex Navigator may suggest a faster route while you're driving:

• To open the route window, tap View.
• To hide the route window, tap Not yet.

Visual hints

As you move along the route, the screen displays:

• Distance to destination, travel time, and estimated time of arrival.

• Traffic on the route.

• Upcoming turn and the distance to it, as well as the next turn (if less than 2 km away).

• Current speed and the speed limit for the route section.

• Lanes: Follow white lanes to stay on your route. Gray lanes are outside your route.

• Route alerts.

  Get alerted about route features

  • Railway crossings

    As you move along the route, Yandex Navigator highlights dangerous railway crossings on your path. Voice notifications are enabled by default. At busy railway crossings, trains pass frequently. To avoid waiting, choose the option without railway crossings when plotting a route.

  • Ferry crossings

    The app warns about ferry crossings along your route. The waiting time at the crossing is not taken into account when plotting a route.

  • Speed bumps

    As you move along the route, Yandex Navigator highlights speed bumps on your path. If the distance between speed bumps is less than 150 meters, the notification will be “Several speed bumps ahead”.

  • Toll road

    The app alerts you when you're approaching a toll road.

  • Checkpoints

    If there is a mandatory checkpoint on the route, the app will notify you about it. The waiting time at the checkpoint is not taken into account when plotting a route.

Some cities may have the option to display detailed roads.

Detailed route

To view the entire route or alternative routes, tap . To go back to an up-close view of the current route segment, tap or Continue route.

Turn hints

When you approach a difficult junction or intersection, the app shows which lane to use and when to change lanes so that you don't miss a turn. Alice repeats the instructions so that you can follow the route and observe road markings without looking at the screen.

Example

“In 60 meters, keep to the second right lane, then turn left”.

Turn hints are enabled by default. To disable them, turn off voice notifications.

Quick settings

Tap to access the menu where you can:

• Manage voice navigation and notification volume.

• Change settings:

  • Avoid toll roads.
  • Avoid bad and unpaved roads.
  • Pin hints in the corner.

• Choose a theme.

• Customize cursor appearance.

• Set up map type and road alerts.

• Go to the app settings.
