Configure permissions and notifications

When you launch the app for the first time, you'll be asked to give some permissions required for Yandex Navigator to work properly. But you can also grant them later.

Additionally, you can select which events you want to get notified of.

Permissions

The app requires the following permissions to work properly on your device:

  • Location: to automatically determine your location, based on which search suggestions are generated.
  • Notifications: to allow Yandex Navigator to send you push notifications (pop-up messages). For example, a notification may suggest that you leave a review about a place you recently visited.
  • IDFA (iOS device ID): to get higher-accuracy recommendations in Yandex Navigator.

After installing the app, grant the required permissions in the device settings. The path and menu element names may vary depending on your device.
