Voice-activated control

Tap on the map or say Hey Yandex! to enable voice-activated control in the app.

When you get the response “Ready!”, — voice your command.

Attention.

If your smartphone is playing music, voice activation may be disabled in the app.

Voice-activated control is enabled in the app by default.If you disabled it manually, then follow these steps to re-activate it:

  1. Tap on the lower part of the screen.

  2. Tap Menu in the control panel.

  3. Go to Settings → Sound.
  4. Enable Voice activation.

The app interprets a pause as the end of a voice command; alternately, you can tap Done.

Set route to point plotted on map

Go to + <destination point>

Say “Go!” and name your destination point.Points can have the following types of names:

  • names of points from your My Places list (for example, “Home”)
  • address (building number and street name, for example “16 Fifth St.”)
  • place name (for example, “Central Park”).

Start trip

OK

Say “Go!” if you want to use this route.

This command works if your route was set using voice-activated control.

The command doesn't work if you set your route manually, or in response to “What did you have in mind?”, or by highlighting a point on the map.

Cancel trip

Cancel

Say “Cancel” to cancel your route.

This command works if your route was set using voice-activated control.

The command doesn't work if you set your route manually, or in response to “What did you have in mind?”, or by highlighting a point on the map.

Add a road alert to the map

Traffic accident + <lane>

Name the type of event and the lane affected (left, middle or right).For example,“Accident.Left lane ”.

View or hide the traffic layer

Show/hide traffic jams

To see the traffic jam layer, say “Show traffic jams”.

To hide this layer, say “Hide traffic jams”.

Find the closest place of a given type

Closest + <type of place>

Say “Closest...” and the type of place (for example, “gas station” or “Pharmacy”).

The program will show you a list of such places.

Choose one of them to set your route there.
