Setting up goals

If you don't have any goals set up, we recommend that you first review the types of goals. If you have goals set up but you believe they aren't working correctly, use the following recommendations for the appropriate type of goal:

We recommend checking whether the goal is set up correctly. There are several requirements for a goal of this type to be registered by the service:

  • The Yandex.Metrica counter code must be installed on the page you specified in the goal settings. Make sure the counter code is installed correctly.
  • The condition for completing the goal must be defined correctly. Make sure that a user on the site can find the page that you specified in the goal settings.

  • The goal identifier in the reachGoal method must match the identifier in the goal settings.
  • The code for the reachGoal method is triggered when the goal is completed.
There are several requirements for a goal of this type to be registered by the service:
  • The steps in a multi-step goal must be specified in the correct order. Make sure that each step can't be completed without completing the previous one.
  • Each of the steps in a multi-step goal must be achievable. We recommend testing whether the goal steps are set correctly.
