"Exit pages" report

The report contains a list of pages that were the last page during a user session (such as a user leaving the website or staying inactive for a specified session timeout period).

To view the report, go to Reports -> Content -> Exit pages.

Ways to use this report

Information about which pages lead to session termination can help you analyze the quality of a site and identify pages that may need improvement.

Exit page statistics can help you identify pages that are not supposed to encourage users to end their session, but still do. If you want to track these parameters, you can create a Landing page dimension.

For example, a user starts a session on the site homepage and ends it on the contacts page — this is expected behavior. However, if a user session started and quickly ended on the homepage, a possible conclusion could be that the user didn’t find the information they were looking for.
