Stop automatic page indexing

Yandex.Metrica sends pages that have a tag installed to Yandex for search indexing. If you want to stop automatically sending certain pages on your website for indexing:

  1. In the list of tags, click next to the appropriate tag and go to Settings.
  2. On the Tag tab, turn on the Stop automatic page indexing option.

    The ut:"noindex" property will be added to the code snippet for the Ya.Metrika object, and the ut=noindex parameter will be added after // in the noscript part of the code.

  3. Copy the updated code snippet and place it on the website pages that you don't want sent for indexing.

<!-- Yandex.Metrika counter -->
<script type="text/javascript">
   (function (d, w, c) {
      (w[c] = w[c] || []).push(function() {
         try {
            w.yaCounterXXXXXX = new Ya.Metrika({
         } catch(e) { }
      var n = d.getElementsByTagName("script")[0],
         s = d.createElement("script"),
         f = function () { n.parentNode.insertBefore(s, n); };
      s.type = "text/javascript";
      s.async = true;
      s.src = "";
      if (w.opera == "[object Opera]") {
          d.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", f, false);
      } else { f(); }
   })(document, window, "yandex_metrika_callbacks");
<noscript><div><img src="" style="position:absolute; left:-9999px;" alt="" /></div></noscript>
<!-- /Yandex.Metrika counter -->

Where XXXXXX is the Yandex.Metrica tag ID.

  • The ut:"noindex" property is ignored for the old tag snippet. We recommend using the new code provided on the tag editing page.
  • Enabling the ut:"noindex" property doesn't guarantee that the page won't be indexed at all, since the Yandex robot might find out about the page's existence from other sources.
