Voice messages

Dictating messages is much faster than typing. But listening to voice messages is sometimes inconvenient: the recipient may be in a crowded place, next to a noisy road or a source of loud music, or they may simply like reading more. Voice messages sent via Yandex Messenger combine the speed of voice input with the benefits of plain text. Dictate your message, and it'll be sent both as an audio recording and as recognized text.

Questions and answers

Why can't I send a voice message?
  1. Make sure that your smartphone or PC is connected to the internet. For example, try opening yandex.com. If you're offline, restart the router. If you're still offline, contact your internet provider.
  2. Log out of Yandex Messenger, and then log in again.
  3. Make sure that access to the microphone is allowed in your device's OS settings.
  4. Try changing the device for recording audio.
  5. If you're using Yandex Messenger on a PC running on Windows, make sure that the microphone and camera aren't used by other apps: that makes them inaccessible to Yandex Messenger.
