2.10.6. Item: undo edit, report to moderator, delete item; get link to item

You can perform the following operations with items on Yandex Map Editor:

  • 2.10.6.1. Undo edits: return an item to the condition it was in before you started editing it (all the way back to the condition it was in when it was last approved by a moderator). If the item was created recently and still hasn't been approved by the moderator, then undoing edits will result in the item being deleted.
  • 2.10.6.2. Delete a map item.
  • 2.10.6.3. Complain to moderator: send a report about a specific map item to the moderator.
  • 2.10.6.4. Share: get a link to share information about an item.

These operations work the same for all types of items.

2.10.6.1. Undo edits

You can use the Undo edits button to return an item to the condition it was in before you started editing it (all the way back to the condition it was in when it was last approved by a moderator). If the item was created recently and still hasn't been approved by the moderator, then undoing edits will result in the item being deleted.

To undo edits:

  1. Click the item on the map.

  2. In the attribute panel that opens, click Additional . A menu opens:

  3. Select Undo edits in the menu that opens. The Map item history opens (see section 2.10.8. Map items: history). The Undo button will appear in the panel:

  4. Click Undo. The item will return to the form it was in before you undid the edit.

2.10.6.2. Delete a map item

Most items can only be deleted by Yandex Map Editor moderators.

In some situations though, users can delete items:

  1. Users can delete items that were created in error (as long as the item was not approved by a moderator).

Just undo edits until the item dissapears.
  2. Users can delete extra intersections of linear items like roads and rivers (as long as these intersections join sections of items with identical attribute values). These intersections don't correspond to a real item. They may occur during the stages of drawing rivers, roads, etc.

To delete this type of intersection:

    1. Select the intersection.

    2. In the attribute panel that opens, click More actions () and select Delete in the list that opens (or press Ctrl + Del):

    3. To confirm the operation, click Delete (if you don't want to confirm, click Cancel).

2.10.6.3. Report to moderator

If an item was already approved by the moderator, then undoing edits will return the item to the condition it was in when it was approved. In this case, users cannot delete an item by themselves and should report it to the moderator. You can send reports to the moderator regarding a number of issues (not only to request that an item be deleted).

To send a report:

  1. Click the item on the map.

  2. In the attribute panel that opens, click Additional .

Select Report in the menu that opens. A form opens where you can enter your report.

    Note.

If you are working with composite linear items or composite polygonal items, then the text entry form opens when you click Report .

  3. In the What would you like to report? field, enter your comment.

  4. To continue the operation, click Send (if you don't want to continue, click Cancel).

If you continue the operation, then your report will be sent to the moderator and your comment will be linked to the map item (for information about comments, see section  2.10.7. Map items: add comments).

The moderator will receive your report and take the necessary steps.

2.10.6.4. Share

To share a link to a map item:

  1. Click the item on the map.

  2. In the attribute panel that opens, click Additional . Select Share in the menu that opens.

A field opens that contains a link to the map item:
