# 2.2.4. Measure distance

You can measure the distance of straight and curved lines (for example, when tracing a given street).

To measure distance:
1. Click **Ruler**![](_assets/btn_rule.png).

1. Set the starting point for the segment you want to measure:

    ![](_assets/izm_01.png)

1. Set the next point of the segment to be measured:

    ![](_assets/izm_02.png)

1. Set the subsequent points of the segment to be measured. The length of the entire segment will display next to the last point you set:

    ![](_assets/izm_03.png)

You can figure out the distance from any starting point of a route to any other point: Just place your cursor at the correct point:

    ![](_assets/izm_04.png)

You can edit the line by dragging any point to a new place on the map.

1. To delete a point, double-click it.

To delete an entire line, click the cross next to the endpoint.
