3.9.3. Draw the center of a vegetation item

For named vegetation items, the center point of the item is required. This point is used on the map when you set an item's caption.

Center of a vegetation item:

• Only draw it for named items

• Draw it in the approximate geographic center of the item, and make sure that it is inside the polygon for that item and not within a body of water polygon.

• For items that consist of several polygons, plot the center in the approximate geographic center of the largest polygon.

Follow these steps to set a center:

1. After you draw a vegetation polygon, click Specify or change center of item.

2. Click to enter the center (which will be marked with a green dot after you save your changes):

   

   You can drag the center with your mouse if necessary. Double-click on the marker to delete it.
