Mobile access for smartphones and tablets

You can access Yandex.Mail via the mobile app, the mobile website version, or using an email client. Choose your mobile platform from the list:

Using the Mobile Yandex.Mail app you can check Yandex Mail and read your emails if your device is connected to the Internet.

Note. If you have two-factor authentication enabled, use the one-time password generated by the Yandex.Key app.
Attention. If you use a QIP, NGS or E1 mailbox, please follow the dedicated login instructions.

To access the mobile version of the Yandex.Mail website, enter mail.yandex.com in your browser's address bar.

Attention. The mobile web interface is available on smartphones and tablets running on Android 4.4 and higher. If your device runs an earlier version, please see the corresponding Help section.

You can also work with Yandex.Mail through an email client pre-installed on your device. To do this, enable IMAP support in your mailbox settings, and then set up the email client itself.

Configuring IMAP protocol
  1. Please enter your email address and password (or the application password if you have two-step verification enabled) and click Next.
  2. Set the account type to IMAP.
  3. Fill in the following:

    • server: imap.yandex.com
    • port — 993
    • security type — SSL/TLS

    Tap Next.

  4. Fill in the following:

    • SMTP server: smtp.yandex.com
    • port — 465
    • security type — SSL/TLS

    Enable the Log in to the system option, type your username and password, and then click Next.

  5. Specify how frequently you want to check your Inbox folder and check the appropriate options. Tap Next.

  6. Specify the account name and your name for outgoing messages. Tap Next.

AquaMail

AquaMail supports OAuth protocol for secure connection to mail. User data isn't stored on the application server or mobile device, which makes it harder for hackers to gain access to it.

You can block the application's access to your mail at any time (for example, if you lose your phone).

Creating an account in AquaMail
  1. Open the application and click Add an account.

    If you already have an AquaMail account and want to add another one, open the application menu and click Add a new account.

  2. Select Yandex and click Go.
  3. Log in to the mail with your login and password.
  4. Allow the application access to your Yandex details.
    Note. Access to your details is required for emails to be handled correctly. The application will not do anything with the messages without your consent.
  5. Specify your name for outgoing messages and the account name, select automatic uploading and notification options.
  6. Click Save.
Enabling a new protocol for an existing account

If you already have an AquaMail account, you can enable the OAuth protocol for it:

  1. Click and hold the line with the account you need.
    Note. To access the account list from any folder, click  → Accounts.
  2. Select General settings in the menu that opens.
  3. Click The enhanced security standard can be enabled for this account in the top part of the screen, and log in again to the mailbox with your username and password.
Denying application access to your email
  1. Follow this link on your computer: https://passport.yandex.ru/profile/access.
  2. Select AquaMail in Programs that have access to the account.
  3. Click Delete.

To continue working with emails via AquaMail, open the application, log in to the mail and allow Yandex access to your details again.

  1. Specify your name for outgoing messages.
  2. Please enter your email address and password (or the application password if you have two-step verification enabled).
  3. Specify the account name. Tap Next.
  4. Select Mail. Click Save .

Configuring IMAP protocol
  1. Go to the Settings → Email + accounts section.
  2. Click add service.
  3. Click advanced.
    Attention. Note that if you accidentally click another account instead of advanced, your email client will not be configured properly.
  4. Set the account type to Internet mail:.
  5. Please enter your email address and password (or the application password if you have two-step verification enabled). Tap Next.
  6. Fill in the following:
    • enter your name for outgoing messages
    • incoming mail server — imap.yandex.com:993
    • account type — IMAP4
    • user's name — enter your username
    • password — enter your password
    • outgoing mail server — smtp.yandex.com:465.

    Click advanced settings and enable the following options:

    • Outgoing mail server requires user authentication.
    • Use the same username and password for sending mail.
    • Incoming mail requires SSL.
    • Outgoing mail requires SSL.

    Click Log in.

  1. Go to Messages → Functions → Settings → Email.
  2. Select Mailboxes  → New Mailbox.
  3. Fill in the following:
    • Mailbox typeIMAP
    • My email addressaddress of your mailbox
    • Incoming mail serverimap.yandex.ru
    • Outgoing (SMTP) email server smtp.yandex.ru
    • Current hotspot the hotspot for the mobile Internet connection
    • Mailbox name your name displayed in the outgoing messages
  4. Return to the Messages menu and select your mailbox.
  5. Click Functions  → Email parameters.
  6. Enter your Yandex username and password in the Connection parameters section of your inbox and outbox settings (or the application password if you have two-step authentication enabled).

  • port — 465
Note. If you enabled two-factor authentication, use the application password.
