Mobile access for smartphones and tablets
You can access Yandex.Mail via the mobile app, the mobile website version, or using an email client. Choose your platform:

Using the Mobile Yandex.Mail app you can check Yandex Mail and read your emails if your device is connected to the Internet.

To access the mobile version of the Yandex.Mail website, enter mail.yandex.com in your browser's address bar.

You can work with Yandex.Mail using the pre-installed email client.
- Open the “Email clients” section in Yandex.Mail settings.
- Enable the IMAP or POP3 protocol. IMAP is preferable because it can sync all your email activities with the server.
- If you selected IMAP, select the authentication method:
- Portal password — Your Yandex password.
- Application password — A more secure password, see Help for Yandex.Passport.
Then configure the app:
- Enter your email address and password that you enabled in Yandex.Mail settings, then tap Next.
- Set the account type to IMAP.
Enter the following information:
- Server: imap.yandex.com
- Port: 993
- Security type: SSL/TLS
Tap Next.
Enter the following information:
- SMTP server: smtp.yandex.com
- Port: 465
- Security type: SSL/TLS
Enable the Log in to the system option, enter your username and password that you enabled in Yandex.Mail settings, then tap Next.
Specify how frequently you want to check your Inbox folder and enable the appropriate options. Tap Next.
Specify the account name and your name for outgoing messages. Tap Next.
You can work with Yandex.Mail using another email client.
- Open the “Email clients” section in Yandex.Mail settings.
- Enable the IMAP or POP3 protocol. IMAP is preferable because it can sync all your email activities with the server.
- If you selected IMAP, select the authentication method:
- Portal password — Your Yandex password.
- Application password — A more secure password, see Help for Yandex.Passport.
Then configure the app:
- Specify technical details:
- Incoming mail

- Enter your Yandex username and password that you enabled in Yandex.Mail settings.
- Open the application and click Add an account.
If you already have an AquaMail account and want to add another one, open the application menu and click Add a new account.
- Select Yandex and click Go.
- Log in to the mail with your login and password.
- Allow the application access to your Yandex details.Note. Access to your details is required for emails to be handled correctly. The application will not do anything with the messages without your consent.
- Specify your name for outgoing messages and the account name, select automatic uploading and notification options.
- Click Save.
- Click and hold the line with the account you need.Note. To access the account list from any folder, click .
- Select General settings in the menu that opens.
- Click The enhanced security standard can be enabled for this account in the top part of the screen, and log in again to the mailbox with your username and password.
- Follow this link on your computer: https://passport.yandex.ru/profile/access.
- Select AquaMail in Programs that have access to the account.
- Click Delete.
AquaMail supports OAuth protocol for secure connection to mail. User data isn't stored on the application server or mobile device, which makes it harder for hackers to gain access to it.
You can block the application's access to your mail at any time (for example, if you lose your phone).
If you already have an AquaMail account, you can enable the OAuth protocol for it:
To continue working with emails via AquaMail, open the application, log in to the mail and allow Yandex access to your details again.

- Tap New account.
- Choose Other.
- Under Mail, tap New account.
- Enter the account data:
- Name: Your name for outgoing emails.
- Email: Your Yandex email address.
- Password — Your Yandex or application password. Use the password you enabled in Yandex.Mail settings.
- Description: The name of the account.
- Tap Next.
- Enable Mail. Tap Save.

- Tap advanced.Attention. Note that if you accidentally tap another account instead of advanced, your email client won't be configured properly.
- Set the account type to Internet mail:.
- Enter your email address and password that you enabled in Yandex.Mail settings. Tap Next.
- Enter the following information:
- Your name (for outgoing messages).
- Incoming mail server — imap.yandex.com:993.
- Account type: IMAP4.
- Your username.
- Password: Your Yandex password or app password. Use the password you enabled in Yandex.Mail settings.
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.yandex.com:465.
Tap advanced settings and enable the following options:
- Outgoing mail server requires user authentication.
- Use the same username and password for sending mail.
- Incoming mail requires SSL.
- Outgoing mail requires SSL.
Tap Log in.

- Mailbox type — IMAP
- My email address – address of your mailbox
- Incoming mail server — imap.yandex.ru
- Outgoing (SMTP) email server — smtp.yandex.ru
- Current hotspot – the hotspot for the mobile Internet connection
- Mailbox name – your name displayed in the outgoing messages
- Return to the Messages menu and select your mailbox.
- Click.
- In the incoming and outgoing mail settings, in Connection parameters, specify your Yandex username and password that you enabled in Yandex.Mail settings.
