By default, active folders display the last 30 messages. To view previous emails, click More messages under the email list.
You can change the number of messages displayed per page in the settings:
- Go to .
- The Message list section, specifies the number of messages to be displayed.
Group by subject
If you frequently correspond with a certain person/people, enable email thread. To expand or collapse a list of messages in a thread, click the subject of the message.option (to the right above the list of messages). Your emails will be grouped by
The thread shows all messages with the selected subject, even if some messages are in different folders.
You can also move within a message thread by using the message page.
To ungroup messages, disable theoption (above the message list, on the right).
Read email in a message list
You can view messages directly in a message list.
- Enable the open message in list of messages option.
- Save the changes.
View messages by month
To view messages for a certain month or year, you can use the Messages by month toggle (below the list of messages, to the right).
You can only filter messages by month or by year within the current folder. If you do not see any messages for the specified period, make sure you have opened the right folder.
If none of the folders contain a message for the specified period, then the message does not exist in your mailbox. For details on what might cause this issue and how to resolve it, see Emails have disappeared from the mailbox.
View messages by category
Yandex.Mail makes it easy to work with different message categories. Open the corresponding tab to view notifications from social networks, orders from online stores, or electronic air tickets:
Emails from personal mailboxes are displayed on the Conversations tab.
- Disable the Show message categories option.
- Save the changes.
Pin email to top of list
If you receive a lot of emails every day and don't want to have to search for a given email in your list, you can pin it to the top. Just select the email and click in the message line.
Mark an email as read or unread
To mark a message as read, click to the left of the subject.
To mark a message as unread, click to the left of the subject.
To mark all messages in a folder as read, click to the right of the folder name and confirm:
Page elements don't display correctly
- Old emails in the list display above the new ones
- There are no buttons above the email list
- The “Contacts”, “Calendar”, and “Disk” buttons are missing
- The counter shows unread emails and there aren't any in the list
- The number of emails in folders isn't shown
- Mail doesn't use available space on the screen
- Yandex.Mail doesn't fit on the screen and there is no horizontal scrolling
Old emails in the list display above the new ones
These emails are pinned to the top of the list. Pinned emails are highlighted with a yellow stripe to the left of the email line.
To unpin an email, select it and click Unpin.
There are no buttons above the email list
The buttons display when you begin working with specific emails. Select one or more emails from the list and the buttons will appear.
The “Contacts”, “Calendar”, and “Disk” buttons are missing
You're probably working in compact mode. Follow these steps to go back to full mode.
- Click Layout (in the upper right corner).
- Disable Compact mode.
The counter shows unread emails and there aren't any in the list
Browser plug-ins and extensions may cause this discrepancy. You can temporarily disable them to determine if this is the case. If ad blockers or antivirus extensions are causing problems with Yandex.Mail, then you can add the Mail page to the list of exceptions for that particular extension.
The number of emails in folders isn't shown
Go to a particular folder to find out how many emails are in it. If the folder contains unread emails, that number will display regardless of if you currently have that folder open.
Mail doesn't use available space on the screen
You can change the size of the mailbox window. Hold the cursor on the right border and it will change to this: ←||→. Then left-click and hold while dragging the border to the right.
Yandex.Mail doesn't fit on the screen and there is no horizontal scrolling
You can change the size of the mailbox window. Hold the cursor on the right border and it will change to this: ←||→. Then left-click and hold while dragging the border to the left.
