    Attach files to a message

To attach one or more files to a message:

    1. Click Attach files under the text field.
    2. Select the files you want on your PC and then click Open.
Attention. If you experience issues trying to attach several files at a time, make sure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed on your PC. For more details, see I can't attach a file.

If you have accidentally attached the wrong file, simply click Delete.

Note. The maximum attachment size per email is 25 MB.

If the total size of your attachment is too large, the files will be automatically uploaded on your Yandex.Disk (see folder Mail attachments  → Sent as links to Yandex.Disk).

You can also attach files or folders directly from Yandex.Disk:

    1. Click Attach files → from Yandex.Disk under the input field.
    2. Select a file or folder and then click Attach.

The recipient will see download links for the attachments in your message. The download links to the attachments will only be available to users who participate in the conversation.

Note. The maximum size of each uploaded file is 10 GB. The number of attachments in each message is not limited.

Many mail services reject attachments of more than 10 MB. If you are not sure that your recipient can receive an attachment of more than 10 MB, send it in segments (in several messages) or add the required files to your message through Yandex.Disk.

    Add files when responding

If you get an email with an attachment, you can respond to it without losing the attachment. Yandex.Mail offers you a choice: either add the files to your response or remove them from the conversation.

    Attach files you received

All files that you sent or received are saved to your Yandex.Disk in the Mail attachments folder.

To attach them to an email:

    1. Click Attach files → from Yandex.Mail under the email input field.
    2. Select a file or folder and then click Attach.

    View attachments

You can open certain types of attachments directly in Yandex.Mail without using additional applications. The following file types are supported:

    • Documents: DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX, PPT/PPTX, ODT, ODS, ODP, CSV, RTF, TXT, PDF
    • Images: JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, EPS, PSD, CDR, AI
    • Archives: ZIP, RAR, TAR
    • media — MP3 (you need the current version of Adobe Flash Player to playback media files).

If the email contains an attachment, then it will display as a thumbnail or icon in the email list. To hide attachment thumbnails, open Settings  → Other and disable the show attachments in message list option.

Note. If several files are attached to the email, then the files will download as a ZIP archive.

    Viewing documents and archives

To view a certain document or archive, select it and then click View. The file will open in a new browser window.

    View images

The attached images are displayed as thumbnails. To open an image in the view mode, simply left-click its thumbnail.

To exit view mode, click in the upper right corner, or hit Esc.

    I can't attach a file

Reload the page by pressing the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+F5. Then clear the browser cache and delete all cookies before trying that action again.

Yandex.Mail may not work properly due to certain browser extensions or add-ons. You can temporarily disable them to determine if this is the case. If ad blockers or antivirus extensions are causing problems with Yandex.Mail, then you can add the Mail page to the list of exceptions for that particular extension.
